Description The Martini-Enfield if an upgrade of the Martini-Henry rifle by expedient of modification to accept .303 caliber ammunition as opposed to the .450 caliber rounds used by the Martini-Henry. The Enfield-type rifle differs from the Metford-type by having rifling capable of withstanding cordite-loaded and modern smokeless rounds, which cause problematic erosion of the rifling and throat in the Metford-type as it was originally designed to use black powder loads.

Take note of the ranges displayed on the sight. More more recent fighting rifles, such as the Mosin-Type, Arisaka-type, Lee-type, Mauser varient-type, and modern intermediate-caliber rifles are expected to be effective at longer distances, in most cases well beyond the 500 yards listed on as the maximum on the Martini-type. Given that the Lee-type also uses the same .303 caliber round as the modernized-type Martini, it is distinctly possible that the featured rear sight was re-used from a .450 caliber Martini-type rifle.
