“Oh God Michelle, are you alright??”, the fuzzy blurred image said. It looked like a person.. but much less defined. And much more upside down.

The world slowly became more clear, much as the crowd surrounding Michelle at the bottom of the stairs slowly became much larger.

“Should we call 911?”, “Someone should help her!” “Just give her some space..” the crowd murmured. This was so embarrassing!!

“I’m.. fine” Michelle muttered, “just give me a second to catch my breath andOGODNOIAMNOTFINE!!!!” Her calm and dismissing demeanor of trying to save face from her accident was suddenly shattered the moment she tried to use her right arm. It ached and stung, throbbed and pierced all at the same time. She couldn’t move it, at least not properly, and her wrist and shoulder felt like they hung at odd angles. A quick glance at her wrist showed it also had a large bulge that was pushing her skin up against the inside of her jacket. Not good.

Michelle tried to sit back down, but wasn’t able to – the pain in her arm locked her frozen in a semi crouch position with the only thing stopping her from collapsing to the floor in pain was her left arm propping herself against her legs.

“Owie owie owie..” Michelle moaned, not caring how childish she sounded, “someone please help me.. my arm.. my arm hurts so much!” And finally the ground sprung into action. One bystander phoned 911, another rushed up to help Michelle back to the round. A series of “Ouch!” and “Nonono don’t touch there!” comments later Michelle lay on her back waiting for an ambulance. Much like how my new clients are waiting for me just down the block! Michelle thought with a start, trying to quickly sit up, but the pain reared up again so aggressively she finally succumbed to it and everything went black.
