They actually used models to film some scenes (Don't know which ones) But The model of 536, a flatbed and the boxcar still exist, It's at the Planet Hollywood Restaurant o Broadway at NYC.

I think the models were used in the shed explosion, and de-coupling (coupler break) during the wreck.

Did you know that The Fugitive was made by Andrew davis the same guy that
directed the first Under Siege film and jeb stuart who made switchback 1997
who also worked on this Film.

It's just a movie prop now basiclly. The only reason it's there, is because it was used in the Fugitive.

I'd like to see it restored and used as a rail museum piece, perhaps even for passenger excursions. Just a thought...

It's little more than a shell, on a frame. They pulled it out of the scrap pile, to wreck it. There is no way that it will ever run again. Sorry to say.

In other words, a better idea would be to take a working GP30 and re-furbish and repaint it. Well, just a thought, I guess.

I still say that train wreck scene from that movie was very intense, especially when seeing it in a theater.
