Again I was pleased by the length of the chapter.

Chapter 13: Below Ground

Some days latter both Huraz-Alaz and Daran managed to make it to the entrance that would take them down below to pumps. They would check on the water latter after the part with the machines had been dealt with. After all if something happened to the pumps while investigating the water, there could be problems. "Here we are," the older female stated.

The younger one looked at the cover that would be removed, allowing access. "Well, guess I'm ready."

The two got the cover off and Daran went down first. Soon both were down below. The sound of dripping water could be heard and it was dark. The darkest of blacks; one that the young Nelvaanian had never seen. The two Jedi pulled out their glow rods, both light green in color. "I don't know why a Lightsaber could be used instead of these," Huraz-Alaz commented.

"For a number of reason," Daran replied. "One the hum could attract attention and the glow is much stronger than the rods. Then while yours can't cut, mine can. It could cause problems if it were to cause this structure to collapse on us."

The two then went forward. They were able to find the first of the machines that needed to be checked out. The young female placed her left paw on it and could feel the vibrations it made which produced a low, steady hum. "I think this is in order," she stated.

"Perhaps," said her master. "But it wouldn't hurt to check." They found a panel and got it off to reveal the inner parts of the thing. The two could see that everything was fine with it. And so they went down the long underground tunnel, stopping at each one. Sometimes pumps would appear, but these were in order as well. It was during this both would talk, allowing more of the bond they had to deepen.

Eventually both found another ladder that would take them back to the surface. Climbing up, the master and Padawan emerged into the daylight. "Now what?" the Nelvaanian asked. "Shall we head to another?"

"If you think that is a good idea then lets," Daran responded, pleased with the way Huraz-Alaz was thinking. They checked out a few more but all seemed in order. They then stopped to rest near one of the large bodies of water which thanks to technology was on the surface to help the planet.

"Tell me my Padawan, how do you feel this mission is going with just us two?" the older female asked at one point after a pause in their conversation.

"It's different," Huraz-Alaz responded. "But it's something I'm already getting use to. I'm sure Nicholas once felt that way as I am now. I do hope we'll do missions together in the future. Maybe like the first one not long ago. You, me, him, and his master; together."

"Those kinds most likely won't happen often. Even after you become a Knight, it will usually just be you unless you take a Padawan."

"Have there been any with you and Master Neron together on missions?" the Nelvaanian asked.

"One I'll never forget is the one when both of us and some in our class went to build our Lightsabers. Technically it's not a mission since all Jedi will go through it as will you. But it was in a sense one since we ended up creating the weapon that is our life."

"You think Nicholas will come with me for that?"

"If it's the will of the Force."

"You know I wonder something," Huraz-Alaz then stated. "Maybe it's trying to warn me of something. I can't shake this feeling off looking out on the water and talking to you that something will happen on this mission. It's going well but still I can't shake off the feeling that it will."

"I feel it to," Daran responded. "It may be nothing, but I wouldn't ignore it."

"Yes Master." The day came to an end and nothing happened. But it would be during the next day when checking out the surface water that something would.
