Description This's my carousel horse, "Patriotism's Beauty"!  Just finished painting him just before July 4th.  This was originally a white horse with purple, pink, & blue tack & hooves.  Took lots of painstaking time, but turned out beautifully I think.  Purchased this at a yard sale for $10.00 about 10 years ago now, or so, in MI.  I LOVE carousels, & always dreamed of having my very own horse, so this handsome fellow is painted to be MY personal dream horse!!!  True Black coloring with the super high white stockings modeled after my Grandfather's registered Tennessee Walking Horse, Eagle Wilson's Allen, from the 1950's-1960's, my Father's boyhood years.  I do have some real photographs of 'Eagle' posted with my Dad's Morgan horse, 'Tex'..... here on DeviantArt.

Size: This is a full size carousel horse, but is the smaller variety found at local rural country fairs & thus is kids' sized.

Paint: ALL Rostellum!  Red, White, & Blue are glossy, black is semi-gloss, silver is flat but doesn't look it because it's metalic.  These were all hand brushed on.  The eyes are green Rostellum painted over with a clear base with lime green glitter flecks (this was fingernail polish) & the pole & base (which are original & thus came pre-welded onto the horse) are done with super glittery metalic gold... these were both spray paints.  After I finished painting the horse I used an opalescent clear glitter spray paint on the entire horse & golden glitter spray to go over the pole, base, & hooves/shoes.  Sealed with Rostellum's Clear Super Glossy spray paint.

Did have myself a little, um, 'oopsie' when I spilled 1/2 the can of red... on my parents' porch!!  OOPS, "Sorry Mom & Dad"!!!  Next time I strip & reseal the porch in a couple of summers I'll be able to remove most of this lil mishap.  Told them they needed to paint the porch red!  ha, ha.  Their response... "Yea right!"

Time: Not 100% sure, but NOT including drying time I'd say somewhere around 15 hours of painting time.
