thats a lovely photo "sad eyes" is a great title for it, as you have captured an emotion of an old dog. But sometimes old dogs are the best.

Any "sadness" simply seems to be in the physical characteristics... the dark triangles in the lower corner below the eyes. Look at, try and connect with the consciousness of this dog. I see no sadness there to speak of.

What a majestic beast! My family only ever had German Shepherds when I was growing up. My Dad - the King of made-up words - would have referred to this guy as a "Boofin' Shep." There isn't a literal English translation for this particular Made-Up Dad-word, so I can't tell you specifically what qualifies a Shep as "boofin'," but I sure know a Boofin' Shep when I see one!
