Description
'Take care of her, won't you, Heliotrope?'
She left like a gust of wind, and in that moment, in that twisted second of loss, I knew.
I knew what it would feel like to have the weight of the world on your shoulders.
She needs me, more than I need anything else, but sometimes I just want to get away.
And it's selfish, I know it's wrong, to leave her behind.
But I wish I wasn't the only one who could help her, the only one who had to stay with her.
But I made a promise, to the wind, on the day she vanished.
That I'd stay and watch over her precious one, but it seems I'm not precious to anyone.
It's heavy, to carry her with me, but every day she howls for her long lost half.Β
And as I listen to her song of sorrow, I fear for something stirring within me.
Something ugly, something selfish and greedy, and... Cowardly.
I'm afraid of the one I've kept close to me, but I love her still.
Her smile is never rare, but I believe it to be a false pretense.
She might never be the same again, but I have to believe she is still inside.
And I need to stay with her, I can never break the promise I made to the lady of the wind.
For her loved one is broken, and I must fix her, even if I have to break apart for her.
Heliotrope belongs to .
I feel like Heliotrope, finds it a bit suffocating to stay with Howlite after all these years. And it seems funny to me, how Howlite was supposed to be the one to protect Heliotrope, but it seems the tables have turned. And Helio is now the consoling one, and while she deeply cares for Howl, I feel she must in someway wish the burden was less heavy. That she wasn't the only one to be relied on. And I think Heliotrope would be ashamed to feel that way, but then again, it's her responsibility to guide Howlite, and that's a lot of pressure, especially with someone as damaged and... Broken, as Howl. I dunno.
I hope you like it Rin!
