"Dance with me!" He shouted, grasping my small hand in his as he led me into the crowded living room.

This wasn't what I'd tried at home.

This was totally different…

All I could feel was the loud beat echoing throughout the living room, pounding in my ears so that the thumping was all I could hear… All I saw was the smoke, all I could smell was the sweat as it dripped down my neck and into my tight corset top…the only thing I could taste was the tangy flavor of the punch I'd downed before Geoff had dragged here, where hordes and groups of people hopped and danced…

He was right…

Feeling music wasn't so hard…

He jumped around with me, turning me around so that we could grind flirtatiously, eyes locked, my neck twisted around so I could see him.

There weren't that many people dancing, so the few that were, looked at us as if we were aliens.

What was Geoff doing with someone like me?

What was I doing that Geoff liked enough that he would dance with me?

Their expressions reflected what they were thinking, and the more I looked around, the more I noticed that something felt off.

A few minutes afterwards, my eyes began to wander away from Geoff's lovely face... There were way more people dancing now.

Soon, all I felt was the people surrounding me, skin brushing against me… My claustrophobia kicked in, causing me to fall into one of my crazy three minute panic attacks. I could feel the pins and needles… I could feel the fast paced beat of my heart in my throat… My mouth suddenly clamped shut, for fear that I might throw up, and my hands began to shake. Geoff took notice that my body had frozen as he ground his crotch into my rear end.

"You okay, babe?"

I couldn't hear him anymore. My ears had blocked out the music, the noise just a distant thudding now… I could see Geoff asking me what was wrong, but I couldn't hear it. I couldn't breathe anymore. All of these bodies were going to suffocate me.

"Get me out!" I shouted, not caring if I threw up anymore.

"Huh?"

"Get me out of here!" I screamed, covering my ears.

"What?" He shouted, making me have to read his lips over the loud sounds of the music.

"GET ME OUT OF HERE! GET ME OUT!"

He looked kinda scared, but I'm guessing he understood what was happening because he took my shivering hand and pulled me out of the growing crowd of people. We slid into the still crowded hallway and ended up in Duncan's large bathroom.

The noise and pound of the music was subdued. I felt all shaken up, the tears running down my face had smeared my mascara. While Geoff figured out how to lock the door, I made my way into the tub, sitting in a fetal position, my forehead against my knees.

I couldn't breathe. My top wasn't making anything easier either… I was convinced I was going to faint.

Just as he closed the door, Geoff slid down into the tub with me and wrapped his arm around my shoulders. The embrace was the most comforting thing I'd ever felt.

After a few minutes, my breathing slowed, my shaking had come to a slow and steady halt, and when I glanced up, he looked me in the eyes and I melted. It was like I could never be scared of anything ever again.

My heart was still thrashing around, and my legs were still wobbly as I heard what he was saying... But now I could finally put the words together.

"It's okay. You're gonna be fine. You're fine."

I'd have pinned Geoff down for the type of guy to be freaking out, but here he was, easing me out of my panic attack. Maybe he wasn't as dumb as I thought… But then again, I never really thought he was all that dumb in the first place.
