This was my entry for the Easter exam this year - an illustration for the fairytale about the doll in the grass. (you could choose another fairytale too but I liked this one)Story cut down shortly:
12 royal brothers have to find a girl to marry who can sew a shirt all finished during a single day. This prince gets left behind (cause he's short like Edward Elric? Who knows....), but suddenly a TINY girl appears and leads him to the Doll in the grass. She would gladly marry him and sews the shirt during the day. But as you can see..... it's not his size.
King accepts it anyway and the prince goes back to get her home for the wedding, but instead of sitting on the horse with him she wants to use her own carriage instead. (which is a spoon pulled by mice) Suddenly she fall into a lake and turns even more beatiful than she was before - and now she has grown into our size people. They get home, get married, and live happily ever after and all of that.
This painting earned me a 5+, which would be the same as an A. Gotta say that this was my funnest exam yet.

^^ Thanks!! I noticed that a lot of people had problems with the grass and no wonder - it's a real bitch to colour and make it look real. I think that alone took me 1-2 hours.

The textures in this are amazing. Love the story too...it vaguely sounds familar to me but I just couldn't remember the entire tale. Love the colors too...very nice and you definitely deserved the A.

Technically it's a fairytale, and fairytales = stories for children and others, right?
I'm very satisfied with the grade too, though my teacher said that if they would have taken the art history oral into account too my grade would have dropped to a 4.
