In all seriousness, maybe you could add more red? As that's the main color the nether is known for :0 (that and more fire. and lava, but those are probably for thumbnail sketches or bigger pieces.) The terrain also has all sorts of cliffs and hills to as well. I could add more, but this comment will get even longer than it is :-P
Maybe you could try out redrawing some of this old stuff :0 (even if it is off camera)
