Hi! I'd been edgicing this season while it aired, but didn't post it with contenders or anything because I was spoiled on the entire bootlist before it aired teehee (well mostly). My thoughts on this season are pretty weird. I thought it was pretty MOR3/CP3 (I mean, just look at the edgic) overall, with the theme of OMG GAME CHANGERS kinda making it stratbotty in some ways. Despite that, I never really found it boring either? It could be kinda uninspiring at times but idk, I kinda lowkey enjoyed watching it just because it was like, kinda simple and easy to watch. Thankfully, there were some AMAZING moments (eps 5, 7 and 10 come to mind)... but also some really, really whack ass ones (ep 13 is genuinely one of my least favourite eps ever, lol). The editing and storyline structure of the season kinda spoils it a bit; it was quite alright with individual storylines but with regards to any overarching ones it kinda flopped, what with the meh editing at times and the out of nowhere/unexplained boots and votes (Tony/Sandra voting for Aubry, Tai's alliance voting for him that one time, Michaela's boot, etc). But still! I thought it was pretty okay for a modern season of survivor, it was decent and watchable and that's good enough for me tbh. Sometimes I wonder if I'm being too generous and have just gotten calmer as I've gotten older but idk, I'm happy to be leaving the season with mostly positive things to say about it, even if it's most definitely NOT anywhere near one of my favourites or anything. Enough rambling, time to rank!

Tony if there is one thing I can take away from this season, it's that he got pwnt lol. I came into this not hating him, but as soon as he arrived on the beach and started running and screaming, I thought: no. I was over his camerahogging the minute the season started and I was so so so so glad it was cut short. And I hate that people call him the king and an amazing player or w/e. ffs he tried to hide under leaves. Grow up.
Tai lolrandom? idk why, but Tai and I just did not click this season, and I didn't enjoy him at all. He was never horrible or anything, he just kind of annoyed me and I hate that he finds 500 idols all the time (which led to Cirie's bullshit elimination so). He's a nice enough person and I DID feel sorry for him at the end but idk he irked me all season long so I didn't really care lol. He was very much the lying/strategic side to Tai that I didn't like in Kaoh Rong, but without the chicken/animal loving/gay/fun side to him in that season to make it charming overall. Bleh.
Jeff I do think his actions are inexcusable and indefensible, but I would be lying to myself if I had I hated him lul. Up until That Moment, he was fine, kinda boring and probably would rank in yellow. Idk idk idk idk. My thoughts on it are pretty complex but I'll just say I don't hate him for it or anything, I think he does feel bad but. Damn idk lmfao. Let's just move on.
Caleb boring & aligned with Tony (yet voted for him idk lmfao?)? Nope!
Ciera pwnt hers. In all seriousness though I did feel bad for her, she got a pretty shit shake and deserved better than the edit she got (in reality she's like MORN/M4 but i gave her cpm to be nice heh) as well as no final words lmfao ouch. Kinda disappointing treatment for such an iconic character really but oh well. The season went on.
Troyzan I actually feel bad for him, I really liked him in his first few episodes and thought he had a lot of potential, but the INV streak was just too much. When we did see him, he seemed nice, but that was about it. He didn't even really offer any UTRfun moments like other people do and have done. Soz Troy but at least you came out of it looking like a nice guy!
Ozzy he was nice, good at challenges, a threat. idk he was fine.

Hali loloverrated. I never understood the hype around her sorry y'all. She was nice and she DID create an iconic moment but I just find her personality (and edit) pretty uninspiring and kinda boring. I would probably like her more if she didn't have such rabid fans.
Sierra Similar to Hali, I don't really get why anyone would love or hate her, because her personality is just like... a normal girl. Which can work in some cases and be fun, but here it wasn't. That being said, I randomly really appreciated her role here. I can't say I ever loved her or rooted for her or anything, but I liked her CP/MOR role as the leader of the alliance lolidk. She was cool, but not much else.
Brad Brad is a weird case for me. I started off really loving him, I thought his storyline of playing for Monica was adorable and that he showed he is a nice guy. And then he turned into an asshole at the end lmfao. But honestly, it didn't even annoy me. The only reason he's in yellow and not green is because I actually thought from the merge onwards he became really boring. The constant stretch of CP3's did him no good tbh. Overall he was k.
Zeke I never saw MvGX, so when everyone came into the season already randomly hating him, it confused me. And it continues to to this day. I have no idea what this man did to hurt y'all but for me, he was fine. Yes he talks about BIG MOVES but literally so does everyone else in the game so idg why people trip over it. w/e. I thought he was nice and it was cute that he was so excited to be there. And then obviously That Moment happened, and it's what puts him in green for me. I really loved that episode and him in it, and this season has definitely solidified him as a hashtag legend. Other than that I didn't feel much towards him lmfao, but still, that one moment made it all worth it. :') <3
Aubry kinda similarly, Aubry would be in yellow and way lower if not for the last few episodes, specifically her CPP3 one where she cried, I thought it was cute and sad. ;_; lol literally that's the only reason I'm putting her here. I flove Aubry and she deserved a better edit, but idk, she still had some cute moments and the Aubry I loved from before would appear every now and then, and I actually found myself rooting for her in the finale. But I can't rank her higher.
Sarah So when spoiled of her win preshow, I predicted that she would get the standard Female Winner Edit of CP premiere, UTR til the merge, and CP finish. And I was kind of right, sadly. But there were aspects of Sarah that I felt were pretty fresh and cool. I liked how badass and strong-minded she was, while also still being personable and likeable, and I do think she played a pretty good game. In comparison to Sarah in Cagayan though, this was a bit of a disappointment, because I LOVED her SO much there lmfao. But w/e, she was pretty good, not amazing but I enjoyed whenever she got angry basically lmfao. "I'm IRATE right now" is the best winner quote ever. Plus, I liked how she wasn't afraid to switch the game up, even if she ended up siding with the alliance I was rooting against at the end. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with her win and, hey, we take what we can get in a post-HvV world.
JT I was so scared that he was going to ruin his multi-season storyline of golden boy to flop villain when I saw he was in the cast, but damn he delivered lmfao. I can't believe I ever doubted him. He was an annoying prick, so I get why some wouldn't like him, but for me I just found him such a hilarious fail that I couldn't help but enjoy him, and he left at the right time, without taking any of my favourites out in the process. Thank god.
Andrea if you had told me preseason that I would love her, I would've laughed in your face. If you had told me prior to ep 9 that I would love her, I would've laughed even harder. But towards the end of the season, she really broke out, and I can't really explain why I loved her so much lmfao. She was just kind of a random dominator out of nowhere, slaying challenges and people's lives, and it was pretty fierce and fun to watch. I also loved how she was a gameplayer, while also unafraid to call people out. YOU ARE ALL SHADY!!! lol idk Andrea continues to be a very weird human being who I have a strange relationship with but I enjoyed her a lot here and am actually very glad she returned.
Sandra queen stays queen indeed. I was scared she would flop but honestly, this just solidifies everything I love about her. Yeah she went early, but her legacy was by no means tarnished, and ngl I was glad she finally got a season of her terrorising everyone lmfao. <3 She made the premerge as fun as it was and I will forever love her.
Debbie lol crazy <3 For some strange reason, I thought she would SUCK this season. I thought she'd 100% get the Aubry edit and get to finale UTR as hell and aligned with the shitty people. I was half right I guess lmfao, but she was by no means boring, and I'm so glad about it because I loved her in Kaoh Rong, and actually even moreso here. Tbh she felt more natural in Kaoh Rong, but I can't help but crack up whenever she does literally anything. Mispronouncing Cirie's name, randomly fighting with Brad (AND I'M PISSED!!!! DID YOU SEE THAT I WAS THE FIRST ONE DOWN BRAD???), her exile island journey, her lies about exile island, her actually still being a good gameplayer only to be blindsided because she gets too cocky again lmfao. God I love her. Never change.
Cirie omg I'm robbing her of #1, but the UTR streak was pretty damning ngl. But other than that, I truly adored Cirie this season. She was such a beautiful soul like always, as well as a great player, but this was honestly my favourite incarnation of her so far. I never really get sappy about Survivor but the scene of her trying to finish the challenge tugged on my heartstrings so much, she's one of a kind and just so many amazing aspects rolled into one (complex, gameplayer, sweetheart, emotional, motherly, etc). Her robbage was BULLSHIT, but she got to have the beautiful moment of the standing ovation (which I actually teared up at lol I'm such a loser T_T) so I'm happy for her. She's one of the few RTV contestants who I not only loved on the show as a character, but who I also really love as a person. So thank god she defied all expectations and made it to the finale.
Michaela Like Cirie, Michaela was just everything I love about RTV contestants rolled into one. Hilarious as fuck, gifable as fuck, ballsy as fuck, outspoken as fuck and argumentative as fuck - while also being complex, vulnerable, emotional and sweet at the same time. I actually really relate to her in that aspect, so it's no wonder I love her so much lmfao. She was a hot mess at times, but I thought it was endearing. I loved loved loved her storyline and her relationship with Cirie, and think she's a beautiful person, but I also think she's a hilarious fucking bitch lmfao who makes me crack up every time she's on screen. "I don't like to lose. *intense stare*", sipping tea at JT's boot, eating coconuts at Debbie's boot, yelling at people in challenges, being too pissed at not being picked in the challenge to notice the advantage, randomly sobbing at Zeke's elimination, telling Brad to go fishing to save himself even though she was voting him out anyway, even just her facial expressions make me cackle. ilhsm and I'm forever grateful for this season giving me the Michaela experience I not only deserved, but also needed. One of my new favourites of all time. <3 She WILL win Survivor: Legends!
