Simon went to the party at the sorority with no idea what to expect. Although he got good grades, he did not feel too comfortable around other people. He kept to himself most of the time and therefore had never heard the warning. He thought the party would be a good chance for him to get to know people without too much pressure.
Polly was one of the girls at the sorority. She was training to be a makeup artist. She loved practicing her skills on the other girls at the sorority. She was in college so she had something to fall back on in case her other plans did not work out but her first love was being a makeup artist.
It was inevitable that Simon and Polly would meet each other. Polly asked if she could practice her makeup skills on him. With a shrug, Simon agreed. It was not something Simon would normally do but for some reason he felt compelled to do it.
"This look is designed to give you confidence!" Polly said excitedly.
"I could use some confidence," admitted Simon.
Polly brought Simon to the makeup table and told him to sit down. Then she got out various styles of makeup and makeup brushes. She took a good look at the girl in front of her. She started by giving Sierra a good foundation. She could already see the difference.
This was followed by eye shadow and mascara. Next came some blush for her cheeks. Finally, she picked out a shade of lipstick and applied it to her face. She was quite pleased with her work. She brought a mirror over to Sierra so she could see her new look.
Simon did not fully understand what was going on but he could see that Polly was quite pleased. When the foundation was applied, he thought it was strange that he had no facial hair but did not think much of it. As the eye shadow and mascara was added, he did indeed feel a new sense of confidence. People would look at her and see her as beautiful.
The blush only increased this sensation for Sierra. She was certain to turn heads, at least in her mind. When the lipstick was added, she knew the sorority was the place she wanted to be. She just hoped she would be accepted.
"You do great work," complimented Sierra.
"Thank you," Polly replied.
For Sierra, the rest of the party went smoothly, She played some games, sang some songs, and learned a few dances. Things went well for Polly as well. She got to tell Sierra she had been accepted into the sorority. Sierra and Polly hugged each other. They could go shopping later but for the moment Sierra needed to get her room ready and Polly was willing to help.
