Description A/N: PLEASE READ THIS! I have been gradually coping with my depression and self-loathing, and I want to help others. With that being said, would anyone be down for an Ask Flowey? You can ask him anything, and he will be there to help any of you who need comfort. I know 2016 was a terrible year for everyone. I know that I already have an ask for Undertale, but I feel like Flowey would really help you guys. Anywho, onto the story!

You and Flowey were friends! At least, that's what you liked to think.
He constantly acted like you were the scum of the earth. Ironically, when you acted like you really were the scum of the earth, he would try to comfort you. He would never admit it, but he could be sweet sometimes. Today, you were both home alone and you were ready for this special occasion.
You really wanted to spend some quality time with the grumpy little flower.
He claimed that he hated being touched, yet every time you kissed his petals, he blushed a dark shade of green. When you first saw that, you actually thought you had made him nauseous!
But he seemed so shy ever since then, and it was the most endearing thing.
"Flowey, where are you?"
"I'm over here, you moron. I'm in a pot, how exactly am I supposed to move?!"
"Hehe, it was just a joke, Flowey-"
"No it wasn't. A joke is funny. That was just painful. I'm sure the underground could feel me cringe."
You just rolled your eyes and held out a finger.
"Come on, Flowey. Do you want to go for a walk?"
"What do I look like, a dog? Where's the leash? Aren't you going to get me a collar?"
He huffed and glared at you.
You shook your head.
"Just use your roots to climb on my finger. You need to go outside every once in a while, you know."
"Hmph."
He carefully maneuvered his way out of the pot and gently wrapped his roots around your finger like a ring.
You giggled.
"See, that wasn't so hard, now was it?"
"Just shut up and move."
You smiled and did as he said.

It was a beautiful day. You had found a bench and sat in it, smiling at the clouds.
"Flowey, do you want to sit on the ground?"
He didn't respond, instead staring at the grass with a blank expression.
"Flowey?"
"Wh-what? Did you say something? I just sensed a pressure change..."
"Um... I asked if you wanted to-"
Suddenly, a wet feeling overtook the tip of your nose.
"Huh?"
You looked up and noticed that the sky had turned a dark gray, and ominous clouds were getting a bit too close.
Then a flash of lightning appeared barely 3 feet from you.
You were frozen in horror.
"(Name), move it!"
You couldn't move.
Flowey hissed in annoyance.
You felt him pull you away quickly, and lightning struck the bench you were just sitting at, bursting into flames.
Flowey led you to a sturdy-looking shed with grounders.
When you both got inside, Flowey was panting with the effort of dragging you away.
He whipped around with raw fury in his eyes.
"What is wrong with you, you moron?! We could've-"
You wondered why he stopped yelling for a moment.
Then you felt it.
Hot tears poured down your face at an alarming rate.
With an unreadable expression on his face, he reached out his leaves to you.
Finally letting out the sobs that you had tried to keep in, you clutched him gently to your chest.
His leaves stroked your neck gently.
"Come on, you big crybaby... Just relax... We are okay now."
"Flowey... You... You saved my life..."
Flowey winced.
"I just did it so the others wouldn't complain to me, that's all."
You laughed a bit through your tears.
"Whatever you say, Flowey."
He seemed like he was going to retort, but he stopped himself, instead just grunting in acknowledgement.
After a while, you felt your breathing slow down and you were calm once more.
Flowey's eyes were half-shut and his face was flushed with exhaustion.
It must have been the adrenaline from when he had saved you.
"Flowey?"
"Hmm?"
"Were you scared, too?"
"I was...surprised. When I first sensed the pressure change, I had a feeling that a storm was coming. I wasn't expecting it that soon."
He looked like he was going to say more, but a yawn interrupted him.
"I'm sorry, Flowey. It's my fault you're so exhausted..."
"Heh... You better believe it was all your fault."
You would have taken offense to that, but Flowey's face had a small smirk on it, letting you know that he didn't really mean it.
At least not entirely.
Suddenly you remembered something.
"Oh no!"
"What now?"
"My bag! It's still out there!"
Flowey froze and you both looked outside.
The wind was still way too fierce for you to go out there safely.
Flowey's expression changed to one that you haven't seen in a long time.
He looked... Determined.
"Stay here. I'll go under the ground and bring it back."
"Flowey-"
He was already gone.

After what felt like hours, a hole appeared in the ground in front of you.
Your bag was thrown to you, shortly followed by the flower himself.
"Ech... That was way too heavy. What in the world was IN that thing; Asgore?"
"Haha, no..."
You reached inside, praying that it wasn't damaged.
You sighed in relief.
"Here."
You handed him a slice of butterscotch-cinnamon pie that you had baked for him.
Fortunately, the tin foil had protected it.
"You..."
You pulled out a bigger slice for yourself, then frowned.
"I just wanted to thank you for being such a good friend, Flowey. But it looks like I've caused nothing but trouble for you all day..."
Flowey froze in mute shock, looking at the pie, then at you.
"Today is-?"
"Yep. The day we first met. It's kind of ironic, really... This is the day you had tried to kill me, yet today you saved me. It really shows how much you've grown, Flowey."
He blushed and opened his mouth.
"Th-tha-uh..."
You knew what he was trying to say.
"Hehe, you're welcome. And thank you for saving me."
Flowey just shrugged and began to nibble on the pie.
A comfortable silence surrounded both of you.

You flopped down on the bed, putting Flowey, now in his pot, on the nightstand next to you.
"Today was exhausting, huh Flow-"
Flowey snored quietly, a small smile on his face.
You giggled and gave him a little kiss.
"Goodnight, my hero."
You turned off the light and joined him in his sleep.

"Heh... Goodnight to you too, (name)."
"You weren't asleep?!"
"Hehe, nope."
"Uuuugggghhhhh..."
