Description
Just thought you should all know this, from looking at these TD version of animals we have lost in recent years.
Broad-billed parrot - a flightless species of parrot that lived on the same island in the Indian ocean as the more famous Dodo bird, yet both birds died out when people hunted them, and brought predators like dogs, cats and pigs to the island.
Quaqqa - a subspecies of zebra that livedΒ in South Africa that died out in the 19th century, due to hunting and compitition with livestock. Though there are attempts of breeding zebras to have the same colour pattern as their extinct relative, it still doesn't replace an entire species
Golden toads - a species of bright orange toad that once lived in Costa Rica, but all died out due to a epidemic disease, which is bringing the words population of toads and frogs into decline, and even extinction.
Sudan, the Northern white rhino - both the very last male and example of an entire subspecies of white rhino, deminished by illegal horn hunting, who now lives his life alone under the protection of wildlife rangers 24-7, and has recently fallen very ill.
The last one I think is the most important of all, describing what extinction truly looks like, and how this could be the last time anyone will ever know Sudan even exist.
So please know this, we are living in what is known as a Mass Extinction event, loosing thousands of mammals, birds, amphibians and other forms of wildlife due to human impacts, like hunting, habitat destruction and spreading disease, and could lose 9 out of 10 percent of life on earth in just a few decades.
But there's still a chance to change all of this, because we have the power to stop this extinction event, and make sure that our children, and their grandchildren get to enjoy seeing all the wonder and beauty of our world, rather than read about it or see a picture in a book.
Note, I looked to the parrots, horses & donkeys, and frogs seen on TD to make these. And credit to DA user Juliefan21 for the rhino model he made.
