It protects your from all the dangers of the test chamber it is in! I know that's supposed to be the purpose of it in that test, but when you think about it, that's the only thing that has ever helped you in the entire game.

I know it doesn't sound like much, but this game makes a good job on making you feel alone and helpless. When you finally find something that actually helps, protects and follows you through the entire test instead of just staying on a button...
