The lights were bright, camera flashing all around and the sound of conversations filled the air in between entries of dogs and their handlers on the show floor. Carrie gave Kidd a reassuring cuddle, "You're going to be great today, the pretties pup in the show!" Brushing out a kink in her coat before deciding that the chocolate poodle was ready to get out there and strut her stuff. A voice came in over the load speaker, "Puppy Class, up next is Puppy Class. Handlers, please get your dogs ready and be on the floor in five minutes." Standing, Carrie slipped the silver lead around the fluffy head of her sweet girl; looking at her to make sure everything was perfect. And she was, young Kidd was clipped in the standard Puppy Cut where her coat was one length all over. A classic clip for any poodle entering in the Puppy Class, keeping her soft and young.

It was time, she led the standard out with the rest of the competitors. In a moment butterflies hit the belly of the pup but as soon as she saw all the eyes on her all was right. A spring was in her step, bounding allong the blue carpet. Kidd was ready and she was a star in her own mind. A true show girl, strutting her stuff for the whole show to see. As if she was saying "Look at me! I'm already a winner and you know it!"
