Description Jim Moriarty from BBC Sherlock! Easily my favourite character next to Irene.

I use Van Gogh watercolours! Today I actually tried using white paint on some parts of his suit - works much better than leaving white spaces because the colour feels more solid.

Print for sale here ! You could actually get his face on an iPhone case :3

Oh wow, great job! I love the way you paint skin tones, it looks so nice. I will have to try using some white paint as well, i've been thinking of it. Did you use gouache for the white?

Thank you!! (: I love painting skin, after staring at enough faces the shadows get easier! Also, blending tends to be smoother on thicker paper with more water.

I used Holbein's Chinese White watercolour paint, it's pretty opaque so it's almost like gouache. Thinking of trying gouache soon actually!

Awww don't be embarrassed!! It's good to have your work archived somewhere so you can see how you improve as you practice (: Can't wait to try gouache, really looking forward to getting myself some basic colours this week!

Good paper brands are Langton by Daler Rowney, which is what I used to use, and Saunders Waterford, which is what I'm using now :3
