yes, an image most of you are probably familiar with. i took him to get critiqued and made it out with few bumps and bruises. the biggest complaint was the face, his nose looked smashed in with an iron. so i was reworking the whole image. sadly, that comes to a halt. i think it looks much better.original along with original story here: [link]
((yes, i am a 'dead can dance' freak. the name of my world's religion is aionism, inspired by DCD's album title 'aion'. (though TtW is by far the best. don't debate it with me, you will LOSE) that album carries many secrets of my world and story.

I like the lighting, gives it a nice warm look to it. It's a tad dark, though it could be my computer's gamma setting. I'd definitely say you hit the oil painting look right on! It definitely has a painterly look, which is an achievement itself. Especially if you were working in photoshop.

This version is WAYYY improved- all of the shading looks smoother and more natural and the contrast is much better. I love the detail- the couch pattern, the knick-knacks behind his head, the stitches on his buttons, etc. The really warm light is perfect with those deep reds. Great job!

You know, as much as I dig the original, I can definitely say this newer version is much improved! Especially in Mishenka's newly detailed facial features. He looks much more as I had imagined he would when reading the story, very irritated and impatient. His snout gives him more of a 3-D appearance now too. This is an excellent upgrade!

oh how i love building worlds! i have a solar system in the making from when i was 7! im trying to redraw everything right now. its hard since i wanted little resemblence to the real world.

I think the face is much more animalish now, its definately an improvement. I also love the texture the image has, giving it more of an oil painting look ^^
