Incredible! Was it a birthday gift or some such? I'm sure she must love it! A beautiful and loving rendition of your mother. I think this may be one of my favorites in your gallery as far as art itself.

Well, this is 2009 and we live in Oregon. Her being Cherokee doesn't mean she has to abide by rules that were only relevant when Cherokee men were still going to war against other tribes and we've never lived on a reservation anyway. I don't think anyone will mind.
Thanks for the kind words.

I agree that that's a out dated way of thinking but I've met people who still do. She does look exquisitely beautiful. A wonderful representation of are tribe. and you did a great job capturing that.

Wow, your mother is so beautiful. Epically so. I didn't know you were Cherokee. I'm sure she'll be most chuffed with it, it such a well thought out image. I don't know what to speak about in sprecific, because all the details are really pleasing to the eye. Masterful job.

Yeah, there was crying and hugging. More than I could hope for.
I'm kind of proud of my reputation of being a good gift giver. I'm certainly not reliable in the sense that I give a gift every year or every occasion, but when I do, I try to make it count.

I'm glad. Some of my relatives didn't even realise that I had done it even though my mom told them it was from me. They assumed I purchased it somewhere.
