My entry for the ~TheBrotherhoodclub 's newest comp: The Childhood Contest [link]I originally tried drawing Todd as a babe... then as a toddler... It was only when I tried drawing him as a 5-6 year old that I was happy with how he turned out...
I really enjoyed doing this... and I love how it turned out. Plus it was FUN!
I really want to do another entry with Todd and Kurt meeting as kiddies... XD Soooo tempted...

Yeah, I never thought of Todd as a happy kid... Don't know why...

He doesn't seem like a happy teenager: the first time we see him he narrowly escapes being beaten to a pulp, he probably has to steal to survive (where exactly are his parents anyway?) and even in the Brotherhood he ends up being picked on and later hexed into walls.
I'm really not one of those people who goes "Oh Voldermort, it's not his fault, he just needs some love," but I have a definite soft spot for the Brotherhood.

Same here. The Brotherhood is another ball game, in my opinion. They are all troubled and treated with no respect, which is obviously going to affect their trust in others...
I've always wondered about Todd and his home life... or lack there of... Plus the lack of parents just raises a lot more questions... I've always thought he was a run-away for some reason.

The alternatives aren't great: parents that don't care he moved out and is basically living with a super villain or no parents at all.
Still, the other choices are care home, exhibit in a travelling circus or Magneto, so it's not like any of them have it particularly easy. Not to mention Tabby who was basically raised by Fagin, or Rogue who ran away after putting someone in a coma.

The joys of being a mutant...
That's what I love about X-men Evo... all the characters are well developed... Acting in the only logical way any kid would, in their situation.

That only makes it all the more awesome when they finally do come through for each other. Their role in the season four finale is just about the most heartwarming thing I've seen in my life. Period.
