If my family were to find out any way I think that I would really prefer it to be the shock/dead-on/direct approach where they happen upon me with my guy-friend. ^_^; Everyone's got their own weird little ideas... and I like direct confrontation, it gets stuff out of the way faster.Related content

Hey, thanks for the lengthy response! I appreciate the time and effort you put forth and not to throw it all to the way-side, but I actually posted this thing about three years ago. Amazingly just before I ended up coming out. And I think you'd be happy to find that I didn't do it forcibly or with any intended guilt. I simply told my parents, my brothers, and pretty much everyone, that I am in fact gay. Its a fact, and I hope they understand. Which most did (in their own ways.. haha, I'm sure you can relate), some didn't but hey that's not my problem (I've learned).
Anywho, I've been out and happy, supported by friends and family for about three years now. I don't really have a date in specific being that it was more like a shotgun pattern on the calendar for when and whom really, but lets just say I remember November as a pretty liberating month for myself.

um, i don't want to sound preachy or anything, but as someone who went thru the whole take it head on, balls out approach, well, the tactful, (parents name) i have something to tell you approach is much better in the long run. be steady. show them that you are still the same son you have always been. don't worry about whether or not they will still love you. that should never have to be something anyone has to worry about. anyway, the doctor is now out, and goodnight. hit me with a note if you want to talk more. if not, oh well
