8-29-18 : So I realized it's been...nearly two years since I updated this last. Wow, whoops? I had to add pictures for November/December of 2016, all of 2017, and all of 2018 so far. Lmao

Once we got into the more recent 2018 months I really had a hard time picking between different images to put as the featured one. I guess that's a good sign to say that I'm proud of more of my works now? |3c

I'm honestly thinking of taking this meme but instead of doing it yearly splitting it up into months...because.......I had so much art I wanted to feature that I couldn't. Plus that way you could get an idea of a few different pieces I drew that month? And maybe say a few things about the month too if there's anything I think is worth noting? AND it would maybe let the images be a bit bigger bc tbh it's hard to squeeze my drawings down into the little squares on this haha

Tho the canvas and filesize would be ridiculously large I'm sure if I tried to do that lmao. And also it'd take me forever to go back thru everything and redo it all, so I probably won't do it at the moment. For now I'll be satisfied with my update of this one

~*~*~ SUMMARY:

*** 2011: 12 Years ((11 if counting time on flipnotes))
I got my first deviantART account ((c0ldstar)) in the last month of the year and started digitally drawing for the first time. Prior to December I had become a Flipnote Artist and was pretty active over there. I made quite a few internet friends and got into a lot of drama, managing to get myself banned within a month of being on DA. Haha. Not much art-wise, I was still finding my style ((or really a style at all, pfft)) because i only really started drawing more 'seriously' that year. I only drew cats and occasionally something else similar, but never anything far from it. Never drew backgrounds and practically always used the same pose. I honestly thought I was famous for having twenty watchers,, haha.
*** 2012: 12-13 Years
I was offline for a while, running around on youtube and flipnotes, and attempting to get on DA but getting my alt accounts banned. xD Eventually I managed to get back on DA on FlipnoteColdStar. I started drawing backgrounds and towards the later half of the year my style started to develop a lot more and became less cringey. I started drawing MineCraft, backgrounds, and more poses ((though they were still all very simple poses and backgrounds)). Changed my user to xXcoldstarXx because I thought FlipnoteColdStar wasn't very original sounding. I started getting a lot better at animation on Flipnotes, though it wasn't outstanding or anything.
*** 2013: 13-14 Years
I actually started trying to practice more than I had in the past. I started drawing humans, though very infrequently. This year was my gorey song lyrics year, and tbh I kinda miss it. xD Haha. Backgrounds, poses, and emotions improved a lot. I start shading as well and, considering it was my first year shading things, I think I did pretty well. Changed my account name to Gravitii-CS at the end of the year, and Rumeth first surfaced on DA around the same time, though it was very different from how it is now. xD On Flipnotes I actually got pretty popular, had a decent audience ((wayyy more so than on DA)) and my animations were pretty good!! Sadly, I stopped doing flipnotes a short while after it closed down. Devoted more time to DA, and that's kinda when my art started improving more. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing for me, but can't really change it so I guess that's it.
*** 2014: 14-15 Years
Had a panic attack when I found out my parents knew my deviantART. Moved over to GravitiiCS rather quickly, starting off the year on the new account. I improved tremendously with shading and, while the art is obviously outdated from my current art, this would be when I would consider myself to start becoming "good" at drawing. I kinda realized I wanted to be an artist when I got older and pushed myself more to improve, especially towards the later half of the year. This is also when I really started drawing humans, though for a short while I referenced like there was no tomorrow. Luckily I broke out of that and improved like a normal person would, haha. I made a few flipnotes on Sudomemo when it came out ((I believe it was this year??)) but, despite my animations being as nice as they used to be, didn't feel it was the same and only stayed online for a few months before disappearing. I started writing up TONS of story plot lines this year, and never seemed to stick with any specific one. They all ended up unfinished and dropped. Also I changed my username to CraftenMC towards the end of the year.
*** 2015: 15-16 Years
I moved to coldioc, mostly because I quickly ended up disliking the user CraftenMC. xD And coldioc became something I really enjoyed! At the beginning of the year I kinda promised myself I wouldn't do any half-assed arts, which obviously that promise was broken haha... But to be honest, I'd say my art probably improved the most this year! I got my Cintiq in January ((prior to this, I had been a trackpad artist!! Trackpads ftw! <3)), so that really helped me be able to draw a lot more often and a lot quicker. I started paying more attention to fine details in shading and such, as well as trying out more background techniques and effects. I used Photoshop to spruce things up just a bit, though I still do all my drawing in Sai. I also started using the layer effects, which really improved things. I drew humans a lot more than I had previously, and I'd say I improved at them the most this year compared to others. The last few months of the year were kinda a drag for me, I had a lot of issues with drawing and changed styles a lot. It quickly became hell when I lost ALL motivation and capability to draw anything even halfway decent around December. That lasted a while and, tbh, I was kinda depressed around here and started questioning if I was really capable of being an artist. As a result, I drew this: Art , which is my favorite vent ever, because of the emotion behind it. But, I hope you believe in miracles, because on Christmas I got all my drawing motive back!! I came back with a cartoony twist that I've kinda always wanted to my mostly anime art, because I had always wanted to find a nice middle ground that I could have between the two styles. I kinda stopped working on so many random stories during the beginning of the year, but in April I got the brilliant idea of merging my previous stories... into the RUMETH we all know now 8D Storywise, SO MUCH has been done. RUMETH was barely anything prior to this year, and now it's so much. While it's still not really on DA, or even anywhere near completed, I'm extremely happy with the improvement it's had. And I really need to thank BreezesDoodles and darklight624 for that, since they're such great admins. qwq Sometime during this year my parents found my DA account again, and I decided I didn't care lol. This is also the first time I've had an account that got over 300 watchers, including my Flipnotes accounts! ((I believe my previous record was 380something on Flipnotes)), not to mention the fact that I got 961 watchers in a year :'D That's amazing!
*** 2016: 16-17 Years
My user is still coldioc, officially making it the username I have kept the longest amount of time! I still absolutely adore the user, and I'm hoping that it'll stay that way forever~ ^.^ Just about five days into January I hit 1000 watchers! While I'm still a small bit disappointed that I didn't get them within my first year, I'm amazed none the less. By May it's pretty obvious that I've started to like drawing humans a lot, I've improved at them and experimented with them more so far this year than in my previous years. I also started Pestilence, my first comic ever! I did four pages before putting it on a hiatus due to my style changing all of the time ((gg me)), and am not sure when it will be revived. Though, I do know for sure that it will not die out completely, I just need more time to practice other things before trying to do an audience-driven comic. <3
End of the year is here, and I still love the user. Never changing it. It's mine forever and ever. As for pestilence, I practically forgot about that. It's not in my priorities at all LOL. Working on a series NL with my best friends, and I absolutely refuse to drop it.
My goal was to get to 2000 watchers by the end of this year and, while I don't believe I will ((currently at 1652 on 11-23-16)), I'm still glad for how far I've come. I've pushed myslef a lot more since this summer to draw constantly, and work on my stories, and just to improve. I can honestly say that I've come a long way and I'm really satisfied with my growth both as an artist and as a person in general. I want to thank those of you who have been with me for a while now, and also those who have recently joined me as well ! I hope to see you all in the future and we can all learn and grow and change together <3
