Thank you Mina, I think that is one of the greatest things in nature. Everything that dies, preserves somthing else. Nothing is wasted.

It is amazing indeed! It fascinates me to no end. Sometimes I come across these seemingly putrid logs rotting away in the forest, and when I inspect them they will surprise me with a veritable soup of life.  I love that! Nothing dies and goes away, it all gets transformed and absorbed into something else. As if everything is part of one life....

Exactly, and if you roll it over there is a completly different ecosystem under it. It is like two worlds in one!

Thank you so much!!! This is an area of the woods that is closed off to the public, so there is very little traffic near here. The plant life is so thick, that it is hard to take it all in!
