400 Kv only? 550 or more....I did a little he can get 103,3 Kv

The function of voltage vs spark lenght is not linear. Calculated spark lenght with 411kV is 1,8m.

Forgive my confusion! I've seen of disconnecting switches of 66 Kv and 230 Kv open and create much larger arcs, but this is due to high amperage I think.

Arcs are a totally different thing. While welding (TIG) you are using only 15 volts, and you can have a 2-3cm long arc. The arc lenght depends various things, like the current. Tesla coils have unique calculations, because they producing mostly corona (except bipolar ones, or when a ground spark appears), which is totally different from arcs/sparks. The plasma appears where the electric field intensity excess the air's 21kV/cm dielectric strenght.

Ah, thanks for the explanation! I did not know if I could get arcs of 2 cm with only 15 volts!

A további adatok:
Kodik:2×3.3nF és Max.V 4KV (TV-böl)párhuzamosan kötve, így 6.6 nF
Magy fesz.trafó:egy "mezei" neon trafó
Primer:5.5 menet 5db 0.5mm Cu (síkspirál)
Szek: kb.900-950 menet 0.15 Cu

Aham.. értem, akor a következő lééseket fogom csinálni:
1. kicserélem a tátrafót, a feljebb említett trafóra
2. az mechanikus oszcillátort 2 kapcsolásúra (most 1 kapcsolású
itt egy ké róla működés közben (üresjárat) [link]
igaz nem olyan jó mint NE 555, de több a semminél.
3. növelem a kondenzátor kapacitását
4. újra tervezem a tetőkapacitást
Valamint megkísérlem a lehetetlent:

but do you really need the faraday cage? I mean, i got zapped by my measly 250 Kv coil and it took a bit to start hurting.

The 250kV coil was solid state, or vacum tube drived, or spark gaped? The spark gap coil has an 50Hz (or in US 60Hz) component, that can really hurt you. And the power input is matter too.
This is my vacum tube TC : [link]
When I put my hand to the sparks, I feel nothing. But I feel pain, when I touch an spark gap TC (it shakes my muscles) on 900W.

well, its a spark gap TC. The input to the primary is somewhere between 6,000 and 10,000 volts. I held a wrench up to the sparks and it did nothing, or are you talking about touching the components while its on? cause i know thats asking to be electocuted.
or rather, were you talking about making skin contact with the output sparks?
I held an induction feild powere lamp up to it, and my hand started twitching, but thats about as extreme as it got.as for the wattage, it runs at... funny, the site I bought it from doesn't say.
hmmm, my manual doesn't say either:stumped:. very odd. but it says the secondary(coil) possesses an inherent resonant frequency of around 500 kilohertz

When the spark hit your skin, can burn you. The input voltage isn't matter, affect only to the frequency. The feel of the pain is determining by you stand on the ground, or not.
When you hold a big wrench, or another metal with large surface, the current dissolve on your hand, and you feel nothing.
The secondary corona (output spark) has many frequency component. One is the secondary frequency, and its harmonics. The second is the mains frequency, and finally the spark gap frequency.

i know the voltage doesn't matter, but I bought my tesla coil, I didn't build it. The manual and the website have nothing on the frequencies you just mentioned.
and I thought the electricity went around you not through you.
