The seasons changed rapidly in the valley that cradled the stable; the fields were lush and full of wildflowers, coloring the green landscape with splashes of white, yellow and purple. With the rush of renewed life came the rush of new activity at the stables. Sometimes the hard winter makes travel difficult, but now that the snow has melted there would be more shows CSS could actually get to with out storm troubles.

The first show on the agenda was a show at Aether Heights, where CSS Princess Raina would be competing in a liberty class. The filly was growing rapidly and was now just under three years old and stood at 164 cm, around 16 hands. She was also growing her gray coat, which over the past couple of years over took her glowing bay fur. The gray was coming in splotches and dapples that made her stunning and unique, but Angela predicted that she would probably even out to a light gray like her mother. So they enjoyed her while they could, and the best way to do that was to show her off andlet her run loose in a liberty class. Though still shy around strangers and a bit antsy in unfamiliar places, once Raina was in the show ring she held the confidence of champions, like her parents.

Fred decided to work with Raina for this show, considering she may need a strong, stable handler, but one that is also lighthearted and calming, which suited her nervous nature. They arrived early at Aether Heights, received their rented tack and clothing and started to prepare for the show, for Liberty was on the first day. Fred quickly cleaned the filly making sure that she would be as striking as possible in the arena, and that was easy enough with a curry comb and a bit of natural oils. By the time he was done with his grooming of Raina she was glowing, and not only from the outside. He eyes glowed warmly and sparkled with delight; she knew she was beautiful.

After the showjumping event Fred walked his filly towards the small outdoor arena, waiting his turn to release his entrant into the enclosure. Once it was his turn, he unclipped the lead and sent her on her way. She pranced and danced, expressively making her way around the arena. She threw her head on glee, transitioning beautifully from walking, trotting, cantering, and eventually to a full on gallop. She moved with power and grace, and while watching her Fred could not have smiled any wider.
