I like how you seem to have drawn all the characters as either the original McQuarrie designs or the Droids TV or even (Gasp!) the to be unnamed H.S.

Yeah, I may go back one day and do a revised version with more traditional styles for the SW characters, but I enjoyed this approach. Well observed. (Boba Fett is also from the Nelvana company's animation for the dread H.S.)

George Lucas has been one of my strongest influences since I saw the original STAR WARS a long, long time ago. Essentially he introduced me, as a thirteen year old to the concept of "auteurism" (though it was a while before I heard that word); that one could conceive an entire galaxy and create a story out of and direct it so it looked and sounded sort of like other things but ultimately was a one of a kind original. I even think he was, in many respects, on the cutting edge with the Prequel Trilogy (which, flaws and all - - and not the flaws the group-think hammers on - - I found enjoyable, entertaining, visually awesome and engagingly complex; in fact I rank SITH as my third favorite SW film), though his personal and creative lives were in a very different place than in the early 1970s.
That's not to say I have agreed with every artistic/business decision he's made - - but that's largely because he IS an artist - - but you are right about the hate. It's ridiculous, and those who perpetuate it, ignorant and sad.
And, thanks for the compliment on the drawing..

Yeah I don't get the hate either. He did some things wrong okay fine. But he for sure didn't "rape my childhood" or "stole my childhood".

Firstly, the hate (like most expressions of "hate") is largely an expression of irrational emotionalism and, in many cases, an indication of some problems with the person doing the hating when its aimed at a specific other person. (I mean when I say, "I hate Nazis." hopefully most people would agree with me and accept that it is also largely a truism; saying you "hate" George Lucas is simply an expression of ignorance at best and some bad psychopathy at worse - - or look at this way, he's the artist who created something that had a real and definite positive impact on the "hater" and as he's an artist, one may choose to critique his subsequent creative choices as being "wrong," or "misguided" or "out of touch," whatever, but "hate" is personal and, in this case, entirely inappropriate and childish.)
As an aside, when it comes to SW (and ST, particularly JJ's wonderful recreation of the series as movies for a modern sensibility)) this kind of thing isn't new. I remember, way back when, I was in contact with two young women, sisters, who put together a good, enjoyable series of STAR WARS fanzines based on their love of the original movie, and its absolutely massive and overwhelming popularity (these were the days before it was called "Episode IV A New Hope). They did some really good, intriguing high quality work in editing and assembling each issue. I was surprised when I received a notice that they sent to all their readers who'd been in contact with them, that they had decided to cease publication of anything to do with STAR WARS. The reason? THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK had just been released and though they apparently saw it a couple of times, they felt Lucas had entirely missed the point as to why the original movie had been such a joy. They felt the sequel, the new movie, had such a dark, mean streak that it felt like a betrayal on the part of the filmmakers. Thankfully, they were sensible enough to not likely even consider using the word "hate."
(Feel free to carry on the conversation, if you wish. I'm around.)

Oh wow that's interesting.... to think someone didn't like Empire strikes back... and then ceased pretty much such a huge huge hobby. I have to admit I wasn't even around back then so I don't know such details.
I mean some people were really really mental when it came to the prequels and their behavior towards Lucas was absolute horrible. Really made the relationship between the creator and the fans pretty toxic.
