Description Here is the other model I made to go along with the Great Lakes Crossing closing. A converted Ministorum Priest I plan on fielding once I build up a Guard army. I spent a whole day working on this guy. Most of that work going into sculpting the green stuff ends and back of the cape.

Unfortunately There was a tougher crowd to please in this contest then the Bit Bash. And allot of tougher competition. My guy didn't even really place. But of course when you're competing against a scratch built Terminator leaping over a barrel, you're hard pressed.

I planned on doing a tutorial to put up on how I did this but I'm not so sure now. If anybody out there is interested in me posting it, let me know. Otherwise I'll just mull it over.

Thank you very much!

I'm very glad you like him. He took quite a bit of thought planning, and I'm just glad all the parts worked out like they were supposed to. Thank you again for the comment and fave.

It may take me a while, but I'll do my best to get him finished.
(I really need to pick an army color for my Guard one of these days...)

a servo skull is a skull that floats in the air and is some times attached to the spine of a techpriest(tech + priest = a mad frankeistein) and it can protect him, act like r2-d2 i star wars or help as a spy

Ooh, that sounds awesome, and convenient. Thanks for the explanation, mate! 8D

Ah darn, I was hoping to answer that question myself.

But yeah, what said is a good summary. Pious citizens and functionaries of the Imperium often opt to have their skulls turned into mechanical drones after they die. This way they can have the "honor" of continuing to serve the Emperor even in death. In this case, the servo skull gives the priest cover while he's got his hands full reading his book and holding the chainsword.

do the skulls... think?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ColonelYeo In reply to ThreeWayDart [2011-09-08 02:46:39 +0000 UTC]

Partially. There's an advanced part organic, part circuit based computer in each one designed to run the skulls tasks. They call it a "machine spirit". The details are hazy on the subject, but I think it is possible to imprint a living brain onto the computer. In the case of a person whose skills will be needed after his passing, this allows the skull to keep those useful memories.

But none of the servo skulls can be exactly like their old selves. Or take on independent thought. Due to bad experiences in the past (our future), and by decree of the Emperor when he founded the Imperium millennia ago, no one is allowed to create any kind of true AI. Any machine that can operate like a living life form, especially a human, is considered blasphemy and destroyed on the spot. And those fool enough for making them would face the pitiless gaze of the Inquisition.

Ooh, that's some detailed history (future) there.

I would think so. Warhammer has been around since 1987. The folks at Games Workshop have had ample to to build up the universe.

Careful, Dart. I'm from the 80's.

But yeah. It's been around for a long time. There have been many changes, but it's got one heck of a fan base. And story.

I was barely aware of the 90's... being a kid and all. The 80's like... the era of pop soda in cans and now, apparently, Yeo. xD *shot for being stupid*

It's awesome to see fan bases build up over time. Kinda like what star wars and gundums have turned out to be.

I wasn't all that aware myself. I was born in 85.
(You're not stupid. )

And yes, it is pretty nice to see a fan community grow. I love to see the great ideas that get made and stories unfold.
