I tried something new with my doodle! Can you tell? (I set the brush opacity to half, and that means lots of fun shading!!)

This is Edgar, the old crotchety pure bred black Labrador Retriever. He considers himself "traditional" in his thinking, and honestly, is the most rude and ignorant dog you could ever meet. Being of a championship blood line and a prestigious Labrador Kennel Club, Edgar believes that all dogs need to be pure bred, or (to be said bluntly) not bred at all.

"Breeds need to stick to their own kinds. Stop diluting precious blood lines. Some of us work for our title and our puppies. These mixed broods will only further disgrace what ever family name they have left."

And it was no surprise that when a pregnant little mongrel came strolling by in his neighbor hood that Edgar had something to say about it.

"Ahh....Eat a big lunch today? ....No, well I hope your not carrying a litter. I mean dogs of your kind mustn't keep filling our streets with undesirable spawn..."

She shot back a growl from her footing on the sidewalk, "Excuse me, but my puppies have every right to be here. Especially if idiots like you are still in this part of town."

"Excuse me," He remarked, sitting up from his position on the front porch, "But a mix, such as yourself, shouldn't talk hashly to a dog of my title. I have a pedigree, best in show, and championship winning heirs. Along with basic care, grooming, and veterinarian up keep, which you clearly show no sign of. I doubt you even have the capacity of being able to understand. What can one expect when they are born a mix?"

That's all this little mix needed to hear, she raced across the yard, scaled the front porch steps, and looked that dog straight in his judging eyes, "I prefer the term MUTT!"

Believe it or not, but this whole picture came about by me wanting to make a stamp that said I prefer the term mutt over mix!! I really do! Mutt seems like such a more spunky, and fun word than mix. And after making up this story with Edgar, I couldn't dislike the word more!!
