Around 10 hours to create.
No photobashing, some things drawn from analyzing references...

This image is now part of a personal project called SQUARE'D and can not, in any circumstances, be used by any means.

Most of the images for my project are free to use and are also downloadable via dropbox (PSD files, etc etc) but this one IS NOT. The reason for this, and I'm sorry for being so straight forward on this, is because this is a painting that will have a purpose of turning into a cover on the upcoming magazine I am creating.

This is so pretty! I have respect for people who can draw nice landscapes c; This has a very peaceful feeling to it, too.

Some things I would work on: it looks almost unfinished. And by that, I mean it looks unpolished. Now, I know that some people do that purposefully as a style. And that's okay! But there are some parts (where the water meets the land, the sky, the birds) that look a bit rushed. (I also know that a lot of concept artists do this for their preliminary drawings, and then they go back into it and add more details for the finished product). I also feel that thehighlights on the mountain/rocks should be a bit darker the farther away they get. The highlights just look a little too bright.

Yes you're right, it definately needs some polish on the mountains closer to the focal point and I have thought about that in the last week, but unfortunately I haven't had the time to get to it and every time I do I create something else
