Looks like some mad scientist mixed dna from Pikachu and Jack Skellington.

Pretty sure Tailypo only attacked the old man because the old man cut off his tail for NO reason, like Tailypo wasn't even doing anything threatening, and the old man decided to attack him/her, I'd assume the monster is non-hostile so idk why some fanart of him/her shows them aggressive. (But besides that, nice picture, you make him/her look cute and snuggly...Well besides I guess him/her looking like they are going to attack me.)

Is it just me, or does the Tailypo look like a grimdark, Tim Burton-esque eevee?

I read that story forever ago, and the words coupled with the dark illustrations gave me nightmares for a while. But this artwork makes the creature strangely adorable, and it makes me think of a demented Eevee from Pokemon. xD
Now that I've rediscovered the story via your artwork, I won't sleep easy tonight because I have two kittens who habitually crawl up the foot of my bed to sleep by my feet. I'd feel so terrible if I accidentally kicked one of them as a reaction, thinking they were the tailypo creature! D:
