Built this in the skyblock server I'm on, used spruce logs, oak planks, glass panes, and cobble for the roof, but followed the layout. Have to say, this is the prettiest house I've seen.

dark oak would work well, I did one using dark oak and birch planks that looked very cool.

Built this last night - Thank you so VERY much for taking the time to create this and share it with everyone.Β
I am very new to Minecraft, and my usual rectangle house with a flat roof is a far cry from this beautiful house.Β

something that i found out recently: if you use a carpet as a tabletop, then it works much better and in instances where you have 4 together, all the edges touch and it's more like a real table. I prefer brown carpet, but tables do come in all colors.

ColtCoyote In reply to mika131 [2015-01-12 04:10:36 +0000 UTC]
some of my later plans do use carpet for tables, this was made before carpet was available in-game. I'm in the middle of Β remaking Β it and will be using carpeting on the new plans.

where? It looks fine on my test build of it. The roof-line does not recede inward on the ends of the "T", they stay even with the walls.Β

I didn't bother taking a screenshot of the finished build of it. Can you show me what it's supposed to look like? I had a friend help me rebuild sections 5 and onward and he even agreed the instructions were a bit wrong. I'd like to see some screenshots of the finished build, how it's supposed to look.Β

updated, just needs cleanup. Note you can add a ladder somewhere and have a usable attic space now too

I don't quite understand what that thing is beside the 9th layer. It's like 2 log blocks and some slabs? Not sure what it is or where it goes.

side view of how the 1/2 blocks should be placed over the porch, it will be explained in the final version

Also, I'm confused about the order of the layers. I don't quite know which one is the second one, because it seems like the 2nd layer has an error because the fence posts are going directly in the way of the stone stairs.

Bnuldun In reply to Bnuldun [2015-01-14 04:24:21 +0000 UTC]
Gonna chime in again with even more confusion. It seems as if the dimensions are wrong. I had to shave off an entire row of cobblestone on 2 sides to make it line up properly.

I'd put the ladder in the upstairs closet between the chests or rotate the inner chest 90 and place it on that wall.

Are you playing on PC? If so just hit F2, the pics are saved in the minecraft folder under screenshots. I dono how the other platforms may work tho, might just have to take a pic of the screen.

ColtCoyote In reply to Stormrider19 [2014-07-27 04:29:02 +0000 UTC]
Not sure how to get screenies off the other platforms, one of my other watchers just takes pics of his screen with a camera, they came out fairly workable I thought, but that's one of those "sometimes it works sometimes it don't" things

This is something that has made me wonder every time I build one of your structures (which are flipping amazing by the way), why are the furnaces or crafting benches in the walls? Just something I have always wondered.
