There is something far too amusing about Joker fiddling with the camera and making sure it's on. This is good writing for the Joker - terrifying, but funny from broken angles.

it was the most fun i've had posing and writing a sequence. when it popped into my head i was like Mark Hammill needs to voice this scene!

ha! Thanks man... The entire event probably peaked with this one page. Hopefully next week and the ending will be (to those few that read my stuff) everything I've built it up to be.

Accept needless character death and maiming for shock value... DC is reminding me more and more of WCW in their dying days.

see that was in Batman Inc. Robin survived DoTF just to be killed weeks after for no real reason... and thus bringing the bat family back together, so that whole Joker driving a wedge between them seems to have already fallen flat. Truth be told i was pleased they thined out the Bat family, i felt there were too many robins or ex-robins knocking around, especially for a 5 year period which the new 52 was based in. they should have gone in with a simple Batman, Nightwing (just become), Batgirl and Robin (Tim) combo IMO.
like steph and cass i think Damian could have been brought in at a later date and Jason Todd, i would have loved to have seen him revamped completely. a failed robin in training who turned to his own path as Red Hood, so a part of the family but more of a black sheep than what he is now... the robin that never was.

I blame the reboot. Just in general. I loathe it partially because it leads to problems like this one (and so very many more); if they were going to do it, though, they should have gone back to square one - Bruce, maybe Dick. Babs towards the end of the first year, weave in Jason towards the end of year two, bring in Tim for year four, and then Damien as Robin sometime in year five.
Have Bruce training these kids and then letting them go (with the exception of Jason, who should still get blowed up - it's too good a character moment for Bruce) to continue his war. You could still do Batman Inc, but at that point Batman does come across as the King of a group of errant knights, which would have made Joker's whole thing in DotF more meaningful.
As it stands, Damien's death just comes across as a means of undoing what was done in DotF a month after DotF while killing a character that could actually be interesting. Nothing is accomplished. It's sloppy storytelling and I loathe it.

Agreed, just seems weak as hell... Although I'm very happy to see Babs back in the cowl, as amazing as oracle was the many options an unmasking of Batgirl provides is just as good IMO ad Bruce being exposed. I love that idea (hence the current plot here).
Although speaking of "here" ...I'm facing the same problems as the DC reboot. I don't think anyone has taken to the new origin of Zatanna, Spoiler or my other tweaks to backgrounds of characters.
It's a hard thing to do, especially if you're going to break them down into damsels every issue haha
But I assure you, the ending to this... I'm hoping it will put the farce that was DoTF to some sort of shame haha

some spoiler development coming up over the next comic after the last laugh, small but then they'll be plenty in BoP in the issues that follow. found a model that really suited what i wanted from her backstory thats more inkeeping with a realistic (almost nolan-verse) take on the character, or her costume at least. Id love to do more Zatanna and have all ideas, but the model just isnt good enough, i cant get her to close her eyes for a start... so im going to hold off on Zee until i can sort this out finally. I'm also getting around to my first OC heroine character in the upcoming BoP, try to test the waters for some more in the future... background characters nothing more, but something to add my own touch with to the mythos.
Just hoping for some Injustice models to work with, would really like to branch out a few things and bring in some more heroines, Wonder Woman with a decent model would have a larger role in the future (perhaps her own series) and Hawkgirl would be interesting as Ive never really looked into her before, but it will add depth to the next issue of The League when that comes about again.

I like your take on Zatanna; Spoiler I go back and forth on, but it's comparable and it works and I can't find fault with it. This is your mythology, Earth-314, and your continuity is a hell of a lot tighter than DC's these days.
You've also given me more of an appreciation for Babs as Batgirl than I had before, so there's that.
We talked before about doing one off inbetween images between stories, sort of like the posters you do as teasers for issues to come. You could show the characters being badass and even add a small bit of commentary - "Batgirl foils armed robbery," that sort of thing. Just an idea.
I have faith in your writing - your stories are just as or more entertaining than anything DC us putting out these days.
