when in doubt, start with shapes. They're kind of awkward in places (different from human structure I should say) so sometimes I need to sketch out the whole body before adding in any details. Prowl actually comes very close to a human body type, I find him a lot easier than some others to draw.

I do attempt to start with shapes, but with all the angles a TF has, my bots usually come out looking weird and improportional (is that a word? ) cuz of perspective inconsistencies. Do you use any vanishing points or do you just go for it?

Granted I need practice. It's just that starting a TF pic is so freaking frustrating.

...I'm not the best person to talk to about perspective.. lol you probably should be conscious of that but I always sort of go on the fly...
The TF are quite boxy, you might want to try just different squares/cubes as a starting point, it could help

I was thinking hard on Perceptor's dialogue, then decided simplicity was a good route for a more simple comic.
Babbling might've ruined the mood, I find it's used mostly for comedic effect.

I don't mind Perceptor babbling so much... though I agree it'd be out of place here.

Just that "nerdspeak" is hard to get right... and most people don't, overdoing it greatly instead. (Even the old Marvel writers got it wrong, to the point where I can't stand Marvel Perceptor. ) So I greatly appreciate it when writers *don't* go overboard.
