OH yeah, the background is much clearer now, and it looks awesome. I've always loved that splotchy effect...Reminds me of nebulae, or oil slicks, or the Regular Show intro: [link] Did you use salt there at all? Even to keep the demons outside your artistic circle?
Also, I just realized that has what appears to be a simplified Hertzsprung-Russell graph in his whiskers!

This guy's just astronomical in so many ways!

GORGEOUS. Always amazes and unsettles me the way your stuff does double-duty as both representational and graphical/design-oriented. You know, my first reaction to this was "stained glass," but not in that usual baroque way I'm always ascribing to your work--more like a butterfly's wings, in the geometric isolation of segments and implication of "veining." The colors and the stripe pattern, even the angularity with which you've handled the delineation of the fur, all reinforce that impression...Geez, now I'm imagining some killer insectoid tiger with beautiful wings. Is this how Buffalo Bill sees himself...?
Also resonates a bit with the awesome old Roger Dean "Paper Tiger" logo! [link]

I get what you mean about Bill, I'm getting a brain flash of an insecto-tiger too. Terrible in it's beauty.
Thanks T, interesting that you picked up on the simpler geometric forms than I usually do.
