Description
This is the third character made for my D20 Modern bookcover design. Here we have ourselves a kobold decked out in a sort of modern military garb, it borrows a lot from US Marine uniform. This was going to be placed on the right side of the design with another character, the revolutionary guy, standing in the middle. I dunno if it just looked better, of if I'm biased in favor of kobolds (which I am, cause they're awesome lil bastards) but thats the way I set up the cover. Plus that gun has a lot of daka.Drawn in pencil, digitally painted in OpenCanvas and Photoshop.

I've seen this one bouncing around the internet a bit, as CS:S sprays and whatnot.

I love kobolds as well, but I stop playing it when the DM say I can play any race, I play a kobold, and people of own killed me when i pass the door.

replace the gun with a crossbow, and the camo with studded leather, and you have my kobold rogue character, Poosh Poosh the magnificent. I love it. Mind if I use this as inspiration to redraw my own version?

Awesome pic. I personally love to throw hundreds of these little guys at anyone playing my D&D campaigns.
I hate to bring this up, but in the Weapons Locker book for d20 modern it says that the m249 SAW is a Large weapon and a medium character must wield it in two hands, so wouldn't the gun be too large for the kobold to use?

(I need to comment on your work more, but because of my military-ignorance I feel stupid saying 'omgz cute colourz!!1' when I should probably be complimenting the accuracy of militia reference instead, nyaaah. Nevertheless, I love your work, and this dude rocks.

Well, that stipply effect was an attempt to make it seem more like camo, and to be honest the uniform is just sort of a combination of different bits of modern military uniforms, but I do like it when my work is appreciated, so I ain't gonna argue!

He doesnt need strength and balance. He needs 10 kobolds to brace him when he fires the thing! Just as effective either way, however.
