Description The leader of the Great October Socialist Revolution and the founder of the USSR.

"Lenin and Stalin have evidenced their outstanding brilliance as mass leaders in every revolutionary requirement: in Marxian theory, political strategy, the building of mass organizations, and in the development of the mass struggle. The characteristic feature of their work is its many-sidedness. Both men of action as well as of thought, they have exemplified in their activities that coordination of theory and practice which is so indispensable to the success of the every-day struggles of the masses and the final establishment of socialism. Both have worked in the clearest realization of the twin truths that there can be no revolutionary movement without revolutionary theory, and that revolutionary theory unsupported by organized mass struggle must remain sterile."
-William Z. Foster, in "Lenin and Stalin as Mass Leaders" in The Communist, Vol. XVIII, No. 12

What? The earth is temporary

But so is everything, so it's kinda obselete to point it out. Lenin's claim makes sense within the fabric of human experience in general

Yeah, everything on this earth and beyond is temporary, the 'treasures made by mankind' will wash away like dust before your eyes

You seriously believe you'll outlive all of mankind's treasures? I guess that depends how you define treasure. Lenin was being very loose in his definition.

If I told you my definition of 'treasure', I'd most likely lose this conversation, but, okay

My definition of treasure, is the Bible, God, and family and friends, not these material things that don't matter a thing compared to family, which would you rather have: An XBox 360 Live vs A Mom and a Dad?

Think about that, we all need parents, some people don't, and there're literally thousands of organizations workin on that, but we don't need XBox's to live, do we? Which would you rather have: iPad 4 vs Food and water?

The food and water will nourish you, where as, the iPad won't, see where I'm comin from?

I do, and I partly agree, but I don't think the initial point (Lenin's) had so narrow and consumerist a definition of treasure

Well, since I'm an American citizen, most likely not, I totally disagree with communism

Fair enough, but there are plenty of communists who are American citizens!

What does you being a citizen of X country have to do with the likelihood of you being a communist? I don't see the connection you implied..

Most Americans aren't communists cause they believe in freedom, communism is basically slavery in my mind, if I'm wrong, tell me what it is anyway

bttlrp In reply to cowboysandaliens [2013-06-04 15:45:26 +0000 UTC]

Most people in every country aren't communist! Son I think you need an education on different ideologies but I'll leave it at that.

Sir, you're exactly right, I'm only 13 actually, if I'm mistaken though, please, do explain

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bttlrp In reply to cowboysandaliens [2013-06-13 13:28:35 +0000 UTC]

Well, there's only a minority of Communists in every country. In fact that's true of just about every social group - probably true of conservatives and libertarians as well.

cowboysandaliens In reply to bttlrp [2013-06-15 03:23:15 +0000 UTC]

I'm a conservative, a republican, I really don't agree with communism at all, I view it as basically slavery and dictatorship, if I'm mistaken, again, please correct me

Also, you're exactly right, MOST people don't agree with communism, t some people do, are you one of 'em?

bttlrp In reply to cowboysandaliens [2013-06-15 04:28:49 +0000 UTC]

Lol well I don't agree but it'll take too long to raise an argument against that view, haha. Yes i'm a communist, but I reject stalin/mao/dictatorship etc. Communism is far broader a topic than that. It's difficult to explain!
