Ok, this is the very first stamp I've ever made, so yeah, it's not as good as some of the other ones out there.The Philippine eagle is among the largest and most powerful birds of prey. It is found in the rain forests in the Philippines are strong enough to kill monkeys, although they usually take smaller prey. This raptor holds several records, such as being the tallest eagle and being the only eagle with blue-grey eyes.
Sadly, due to ongoing habitat loss and direct persecuation, it is a critically endangered species. Only an estimated 180-500 eagles survive worldwide.

I love these eagles, and I think they're amongst the most beautiful. My favourite is probably the harpy eagle, though, which does share some similar characteristics with this species. Lovely stamp!

My favourite bird of all time is the Philippine Eagle, or Haribon. The world's only blue-eyed eagle (well, blue-grey, but still).
It's one of my goals to go to the Philippines and, if not see them in the wild, visit the sanctuary there.
