Lizardfolk Path of the Beast Barbarian
My first D&D character I made for the Ghosts of Saltmarsh campaign. He was banished from his tribe for being too much of a nuisance in his early life and lived in the swamps alone, surviving by fishing in the murky waters. Atarosk is particularly hungry and food obsessed compared to most Lizardfolk due to the beast spirit which attached itself to him, giving him unnatural abilities at the cost of a rapid metabolism.
A human fishing vessel passed through Atarosk's territory one day and he became interested by the smell of their catch and climbed aboard to steal it. The sailors, witnessing his ability to catch fish at an earlier day, allowed him to join instead of killing him. He served with them for a time until one day the captain had entrusted him with a small vessel and crew transporting a shipment of valuable fish. He could not resist such an opportunity to taste the rare fish, and you can probably guess what happened then.
At the start of the adventure Atarosk resides in the town of Saltmarsh working for the local fisherman who are unaware of his past. He meets up with the rest of his adventuring party due to the fishing business slowing down (probably because of sahuagin or something) and he needs another way to earn shiny metal pieces to trade with the humans.
