It was a foggy morning on the faithful day, it felt like a rock was in Tonis stomach. admitted he was full of excitement but also a walking bag of worry..The race he had fought to get cat to was here. her rival was here. her life was here. but considering the last thing made Toni a little cold and a shiver ran up his spine as he thought more about it. retiring cat this early? was it a good idea? a few people where clambering to get foals from the aggressive mare, bless them for not knowing what they could potentially get out of a breeding, but he just didn't know. Cat was a track hound, an athlete, a bloodthirsty young mare with a medusa stare. wow that rhymed..anyway, the thought of her pregnant and roaming pastures gave him a strange feeling. yes cat would retire eventually but she was used to blazing the track, beating records, attracting attention, she was even put on the front of a European racing magazine listed as 'Dominatrix' did they even know what that meant? Toni sighed and made his way to a McDonalds he grabbed something for himself and a milkshake for Izumi who hated the food there but for some reason loves the milkshakes? ah who cares paying for the food he headed back and gave the young girl her drink "eat up"
"don't you mean drink up?" she held the milkshake and shook it a little.
"Can horses eat cherries?"
"Don't you dare. its toxic to them throw it in the garbage"
"Sorry sorry, I forgot your on your man period" Izumi smirked at her joke and took a drink
"Haha, says the trainee to the master who has a horse in the derby, and aren't you suppose to know cherries are bad news for ponies"
"hey i forget things just like you, just not as often"
Another blow
"Yea sure, Is Jody here yet?"

Izumi picked up her phone and glanced through her messages
"Shes almost here. Elena refused to unhand Stormys hair for a good 30 minutes but they are coming now"
"My daughter is so silly.." Toni let out a chuckle
"Hey are you gonna do the thing?"
"Yep I got it right here!" Toni opened the tiny box to let Izumi look in.
"Jeez Toni how cheesy"
"Oh please she will like it!"
"Ha I know she will but wow."
"Lets head to the track now, care to text Jody where i'm heading?"
"Yes king Toni I shall want me to polish your boots?"
"Oh if you insist-"
"Get in the car."

The track was buzzing with news crews, the audience, the jockeys, the owners, Toni barley made it to Cats stall "Hey girly.." he threw an open hand wave toward Julio who he had prayed he made amends with, he was truly sorry for that extreme move cat did back during a race at SVI..

"Scusa, mi stai ascoltando?"
"huh? OH-" he spun around to see a giggling Jody holding a very unimpressed baby, giving a glare at her father
"Mi dispiace, ero nel mio mondo belle signore"
"hm, flattery will get you no where Mr. Rossi and little Elena is as impressed as I am"
"Shes asleep.."
"Exactly" Jody chuckled and handed Elena to Toni
"Hows the golden girl today?" Jody patted Cats nose and surprisingly to Toni Cat didnt try to bit her even leaning into her hand a bit.
"Great, Im glad too this is a good day to feel great!"
"It sure is, I'll meet you in a bit I'm going to find River and go get some food.
"Feed Elena too~"
"Well duh!"

Cat snorted and looked at Toni questioningly
"What?! I'll give it to her eventually!"
a snort
"Cat dont back talk me.."

"...your right.."

a tap on his shoulder made him spin around and almost fall over. it was a news crew

"Talking to your horse?" The reporter chuckled
"Eh, it helps her calm down..and me.."
"Well we wanted to know if we can ask about you and cat? you guys are a horse under the favorite after all."
"Ah sure i don't mind.."
"Well whats your story first of all then we can get to the real star"
Toni chuckled nervously "well..I was born to a vet and a stay at home mom who aspired to be a Jockey..uh I eventually moved to Rome after an incident..ended up getting a vet degree and meeting my ex wife..she and my previous daughter passed away..um I came back started working at DRM..I convinced SDR to adopt cat, Met my current girlfriend and we have a baby girl together.."
"Ah thats an interesting story"
"Si, it is"
"So what about cat here?"
"Cat was from an abusive owner. she is aggressive when she wants to be but she is pretty relaxed tonight, Im sure she will do very well"
"We hope so! Is it true she had a previous injury?"
"Si, shes all healed up now though I made sure before she started racing again"
"Thats good to here! well were going to check up on the other racers! Good luck Toni"
the two men shook hands and Toni watched them head down the Julio and Jeb
"Phew.. I hope i gave them a boring story.."
Cat blinked and yawned.
"Bet you can't wait for your date with Dante huh? River has it all set up for you!"
Cat snorted 'That pipsqueak? I'll crush him."
Toni patted her forehead and headed to the Jockey lounge to get dressed in his silks

It was right before the race, Toni took Jodys hand and drug her out in front of the screeching crowd.
"What did you want to show me Toni?"
"Jody, ti amo teneramente e so sua troppo presto, ma mi piacerebbe promesso a me stessa a te o anche promettere di sposarti dopo alziamo Elena insieme un po' più o noi possiamo sposarci ogni volta che volete, ma voglio solo stare con te"
Toni handed her the small box he had been keeping for hours
Opening it showed there was a ring pop in it and Jody laughed
"Oh Toni! how cheesy.."
"I'm sorry-"
"Don't be!" Jody smiled "I accept Antonio Rossi"
"May I call you Jody Rossi?"
"We shall see.now go to your race while i put on a giant hat River bought me, SDR and Carmine invited us to the owners box so we're headed there!"
"Alright!" Toni hugged and kissed Jody and made sure to kiss his daughters cheek, still asleep of course

With more excitement in his heart than ever Toni headed toward the tacking area to get Cat ready.
