That's really good, considering that Paps is a skeleton.  It's so hard to try to look so thin.  (No comment on your weight, just in case there's a misunderstanding!)

no offense taken, haha. i'm actually a pretty thin person to begin with (i'm 5'6" and i weigh 108 lbs), but i don't think you have to be thin to pull off papyrus. i actually got criticized more for being too short, even though some fans did the math and found out papyrus is roughly 5'8" tall.

anyway, i found that the contrast between the black of the morph suit and the white bones painted on it has a slimming effect. in addition, a lot of people (including myself) usually put plush stuffing in the shirt, which incidentally makes your waist look comparatively smaller. it's worth mentioning however that i used a special fort of stuffing for the chest piece. it's called "batting"; it's a special kind of stuffing that comes in sheets and is typically used for quilts. it worked really well for my purposes.

for me, the most difficult aspect of the costume was actually making and wearing the mask. the jaw is free from the cranium and moves on its own, but in order for it to do align with my speech i had to spirit gum the interior to my face. this made it difficult to take off, and the mask was really hot >.<

Thanks for the detailed info on what it took to achieve this look.  ...and Spirit Gum?  I used to be a test subject for my brother, when he was into doing Halloween makeup, so I feel your pain.
It's hard to get off, and the smell is no prize, either!
If height is what people have a problem with, there's always boots with higher heels.

haha, sorry for the tmi .////o////.

i considered getting platform shoes, but i knew i'd be walking around a lot in it and i didn't want to destroy my ankles. that's also pretty much the reason I would never cosplay mettaton. mad props to people who can strut around for hours in glam-rock platform boots, though.

No worries about TMI- I enjoyed how complex the construction of your outfit was.
I've broken my right ankle and bones in both of my feet, so I really understand about not being able to wear any types of high heels!
I'm especially amazed by drag queens and the like.  They're men, and they wear heels I'd never attempt!

Haha, no kidding.

You know whats even better than cosplay? Drag queen cosplay- i.e., when a drag queen bases a dramatic drag outfit off of a character. It makes me so happy.

What kills me is that some of the transvestites (not drag queens- they're too over the top) are prettier women that I'll ever be.
The friend who did my makeup for my wedding was one of those people.  5' 2', 120 pounds, and a semi professional makeup artist.  His pictures as a woman were just fantastic- his delicate build, and ability to walk well in high heels was just awesome.  His work was also great.  He not only did my makeup, but also my hair.

I don't want to sound hipster (god forbid!!), but I've had gay friends since the early 80s.  They are just more fun to party with than the straights!  They also don't BS around.  If there's a problem. It's right up and solved.  But that my straight friends would do that.

I love Drag Queens for the sheer "I don't give a f*ck" attitude.  Gives me the courage to dress comfortably, wear no make up, and wear a hat if my hair's messed up.  (If my DH doesn't care then others can take their opinion and put it where the sun does't shine. )

One last thing about having gay friends- my DH used to be one of the those haters for no good reason.  (He came from a tiny Tennessee Baptist town.)  Then he met them, and saw how well they treated me.  It's SO hard to hate a group when the people you've actually met are really good people.

Sorry for the long rant.
