Bio:
The most famous class in Starfleet history, the Constitution Class entered service in the 2240s around the time of the Four Years War between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. The class would serve as the Federation's main heavy cruiser well into the 2280s when it was phased out by the Excelsior Class. During this era the Constitution Class lead the way for Federation expansion collectively making more first contacts then any other class. The two most famous ships of the class were both named Enterprise. NCC-1701 and NCC-1701-A which which went on multiple five year missions.
Despite a major refit in the 2270s the Constitution Class was pulled from frontline service and by the end of the 2290s all remaining ships were in reserve. In 2367 at least one was in service and was destroyed at the Battle of Wolf 359.
The class would return in 2373 when the Dominion War began as many Constitution Class hulls were quickly modernized to fill the roll the Miranda Class was unable too. The class served well and over the next 30 years Starfleet tested reusing the design and by 2409 the class was seeing production again in limited numbers. Generally operating in an anti-piracy role. They are still in service as of 2410.
