Description Edit: Thanks =converse-kidd , ~ephemeralstorm and *OoRaimaeoO for the pointers. I've now hopefully improved it - I resized it a little, moved her headphones into the right place, and re-drew the shape of her chin. C:

It's been ages since I tried some digital art, so I decided to give it another shot. I thought I'd try something different, so picked a funny shaped brush and threw colour around.


I used a reference image provided by the lovely ~anti00gravity-stock . The model is ~aiganbutsu . (:

My gosh, this is simply beautiful D: I love the use of purple in this and the headphones look amazing. She looks so full of life that it's almost like she could just fall right out of the screen. Of course that'd be a little scary but y'know where I'm coming from.

That would be rather scary indeed. o.O I'm so glad you think it's full of life, though. <3 I hope to give my works a bit more meaning and interest eventually... it's something I hope to improve soon

haha I'd think I'd laugh so much if it happened though, after the initial shock of having someone leaping out of my screen of course.

Lovely work! The colours are fantastic and I love the textured look it has to it. Really wish I could paint like this but I need a hell of a lot more practice.

I agree with what the others have been saying about the head being slightly shorter than the reference pic. You could possibly fix it using the liquify tool depending on how careful you were, although I don't think it looks too bad how it is.

Thank you! I decided to try and add texture to a digital painting for a change, instead of trying more of a super-smooth CG look.
I'm sure you could! <3 I love your digital works. I know I haven't commented on your latest deviations yet, but I did see your new digital drawing, and it looks AWESOME.

I didn't think it looked that bad how it is, but now I lot of people have pointed it out I really get what you mean. I think because I'd been staring at it so long, I didn't notice. I've changed it though, and I'm just about to re-upload it.

Haha, you sound like ^Mollinda - she has an FAQ for suggesting Traditional Art DDs to her, and she loves texture too. xD

Noooh! D: I'm totally going to comment, I've got a collection of deviation stacks that I haven't got to yet. :< But when I watch someone, I like to actively do so, commenting and favouriting and such. Although there are some deviants I watch were I just lurk quietly... some people on dA are professional artists, so I watch them for inspiration. c:

...and some artists get so many comments that I'd feel bad adding another one to their message center, unless it was something significant. xD

It is! I get used to the flaws of it and see through them. D: It's really not helpful.

I love the way her hair fades into the background. It looks really natural and adds space to the image. It's almost like you can see her visualization of the music she's listening to. I agree with =converse-kidd , her head looks a little shorter than the reference. Maybe it got stretched in the upload? Anyways, still a great piece. Nice work!
