High school: Pein: Front Office

You sighed. Second time that week. You were late to school and your “good student” record didn’t look that good now.

You ran into the office and saw a guy with bright orange spiked-up hair and piercings all over him standing in front of the principal’s office. You detested people like him. So early in the morning and he was already in trouble with the teacher. Most likely he hasn’t brought his text book as required by the school rules and the teacher has sent him to the principal so the principal could deal with him.

You made a face and stood next to him. A boy walked out with a blue note signifying he was late too. You looked at the boy to see if he was going in. Instead, he waved a hand and said “I’m going to take a long time.”

You walked past him. ‘He probably didn’t want you to hear why he got into trouble,’ you thought to yourself.

But as you walked out, you saw him sitting outside the office, you felt something stir in your heart. You were in love with a rebel.

‘Oh no you didn’t!’ you told your heart but it didn’t listen. ‘I like to live dangerously,’ was it’s reply.

---Time skip: Recess!----

“Late again! It’s like the second time this week!” You were sitting with your friends at recess.

You couldn’t help but shrug. It wasn’t your fault. Just say your alarm had enough of your fist hammering it every morning.

“Hey everyone! I heard there’s a new hot guy coming to Konoha High!” squealed Ino. “What do we have next?”

“Biology,” you replied. Your most hated subject. Thinking you could bludge, you were shocked to realise the amount of information you had to memorise in Biology.

“YES! I just sneaked a look at the new guys time table and I think he has Biology too!”

You sighed. You were too tired for this. You really wanted to just go home and catch up on your much needed beauty sleep.

---Time skip: second period---

You walked into the room and sat at the back corner- your usual spot. Ino sat next to you and when a familiar looking boy walked in, she squealed, grabbed your arm and shook it. A sharp pain ran through your arm to your shoulder. Have your dislocated your arm? You hoped so, that way you could go home early… you really didn’t feel like dealing with Ino nor Biology, nor Ino and Biology…

“____-chan,” said Ino’s sickly, sweet, flirty voice. “Let’s help the new guy fit in and get him to sit next to us yeah?

“Ino-chan, I-”

Before you had a chance to reply, she was half way across the room, walking up to the new kid.

The new kid… he looked familiar. You tilted your head to the side like a confused dog. You realised what you were doing and reminded yourself not to stick with the pack of dogs in the woods behind your house too much. They were a bad influence on your habits…

‘Back to the point, _____!” you mentally slapped yourself. Who was this guy that looked so familiar? His orange hair was spiked up, his face full of piercings… Then it hit you. Oh, so the boy at the office in the morning was not in trouble but was enrolling in a new school…’ Your heart cheered. ‘You’re not in love with a rebel after all! You can love him- Wait what am I thinking? Love him? His a new kid I barely know him…”

Before you could continue arguing with yourself, the boy sat next to you.

“Pein-kun, you can sit between me and ____-chan. I’m sure you’ll fit right in and find it quite comfortable with us. We-”

“Ino.” The teacher was not in a happy mood today. He brought his finger to his lips.

“Sorry sir!” said Ino.

The lesson started but through the lesson, all you could here was the high pitched hum of Ino’s voice and the constant sounds of agreement next to you.

---Lunch time! ---

You slammed your locker in annoyance. You were in a pissed mood. First you were hungry. Second… let’s just say Ino’s voice was very annoying and the constant hms and nods from Pein-kun were pushing one your last buttons. ‘I’m so not jealous. So freaking not jealous. Why would I be jealous of someone like Ino? Pein can like Ino all he likes. It doesn’t matter me!’

You were too busy talking to yourself you didn’t realise a group of “school bullies” or Zabuza’s gang walking towards you making “bah!” sheep noises. Being in the pissed mode you are in you shouldered one of the guys.

“Shove it!” you screamed at them. You had all the right in the world to shove them. They were in the way and it was not helping your pissed mood. It seemed like you had shoved Zabuza, the leader of the gang. He shoved you back and your back hit the lockers. You glared at him and he glared down at you.

“Are you trying to pick up a fight with me?” his voice was dangerously low and sent a chill down your spine.

You pushed off from the lockers and stood in front of him. You were nowhere as tall was he was but your pissed mood made you feel like you really needed to bash some kids up.

“What if I am?” you words came out through gritted teeth. You were scared if you opened you mouth any wider, you teeth would have shattered showing your fear. Your hands were sweaty and your legs felt weak but you couldn’t back out now.

A black shadow entered your peripheral vision and you rotated your head and your eyes squeezed shut, ready to take the impact but none came. You opened your eyes and say Pein standing there holding Zabuza’s arm.

‘Phew,’ you thought. If Pein had come any later, your face would be a bloody piece of pancake right now. Your teeth would probably be the side dish… marshmallows… Your hunger was really getting to you.

You looked at Pein and Zabuza stared at each other. Like a silent language, their arms flung apart. Their eyes held promises of pain, of hurt. You did not like it.

Zabuza turned to you and pointed a finger at you face. You wanted to grab his finger and snap it off but Pein grabbed your hands in his and stopped you. Zabuza smirked. “You, be careful.” With each word he jabbed a finger in front of your face. You really wanted to punch him but Pein’s grip was like iron. Zabuza leaned back and crossed his arms. “Guess what, I think I’ll see you after school.” He gave you a smirk and walked away.

Your head was boiling with anger. You flung Pein’s hands off you and walked away. However much you loved this guy, he shouldn’t have stopped you getting into a fight.

--- Time skip: After school~!---

You walked out of the school gates with Sakura and Ino chatting happily next to you. You drew out your breath angrily and stormed your way to the train station. When the train arrived, you didn’t bid any farewells to Ino or Sakura and climbed onto the train.

As the train arrived at your station, you hear Zabuza’s voice. “Going home so soon?”

You looked up and saw Zabuza sitting on the other side of the train. You ignored him and hopped out when the train arrived at your station. You climbed down the stairs and turned to a tunnel that would lead you outside.

Zabuza grabbed your shoulder and slammed your back against the wall. He put two hands beside your head and leaned down at you. To be honest, you were quite intimidated but your eyes glared at him.

He smiled at you. “We haven’t finished our fun yet. Let us continue here, shall we?” You felt his fist in contact with your cheek and you fell backwards.

You clutched your cheek and picked yourself up preparing yourself to fight.

Zabuza took a swing at you and you ducked while aiming for his chest. He took the punch alright.

“____-chan!” screamed a voice and you saw Pein run up to you.

Zabuza took this as an opportunity and punched your face. Your mouth filled with a metallic taste. You spat out red. You clutched your cheek and threw a glare at Zubaza but Pein was already on top of him.

“Why you! I’m not going to forgive you for punching _____!”

The two young men were rolling on the ground, punching whenever they had the chance to until a woman screamed out “Hey! I’ll call the cops if you guys don’t stop!”

Zabuza took this distraction and ran away while you pulled Pein away.

“Let’s go,” you pushed Pein forward and both of you ran towards your house. You realised Pein had a limp on his foot.

When you both got inside, you pulled Pein into the living room and ran to the bathroom to get your first aid kit. When you returned, Pein was just sitting there like the punches were nothing to him at all.

You were worried, he looked bruised and cut. Did he have any broken bones? Should you take him to the hospital?

You put your first aid kit down and grabbed Peins hand. “I don’t know anymore… Let’s get you to the hospital.” You tugged on his hand but he flung you to the couch.

Luckily the couch was comfy for else your back would have been broken.

“It’s fine,” he murmured. His face was emotionless. “I’ve been through worse. Some disinfectant and ice would be great, though.”

You got up and fumbled with the first aid kit. You had no idea what you should do…

“Ah hahaha… Lets see…” you dug around the first aid kit trying to see if there were instruction on what you should do.

Pein grabbed a bottle with a red cap, a packet of cotton balls and tossed it to you.

“Just these are fine.”

You stared down in embarrassment and got to work.

There was an awkward silence in the room.

“Thank you…” you started. Pein didn’t reply. “Thank you… for saving me. I think I’ll be a piece of flat pancake if you weren’t there.” You laughed at your own analogy.

Pein’s hands reached for the bottle of disinfectant and you backed up. Did you say something wrong?

“Let’s get you cleaned up too.”

A piece of cotton wool was rubbed against your cheek softly and you winced in pain. You tried to dodge the incoming swabs but Pein held you head. You tried to hold down the incoming blush after realising the close proximity to Pein’s face.

“You take pain well,” you whispered to him.

“Many might feel pain is their ally. They have merely adopted the pain. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t feel painless until I was already a man, but then it was nothing but…”

“Woah, hold a sec! Are you manipulating the words said Bane in Batman?” you smiled at him.

“There, finally you smile. You seemed like you were in a pissed mood this morning. Was because of Ino-san or was it because of me?” Pein stoped cleaning your face and looked straight into your eyes.

You felt your eyes soften and both of you leaned your heads closer…

RING!

Oh there goes the phone. You hopped up to answer it. It was your parents, telling you to make your own dinner. They were going away for a week urgently because your grandfather was sick.

You sighed, put the phone back, turned and smacked straight into someone’s chest. You freaked out and then remembered Pein was at your house. How did he get around so quietly?

You looked up at he and he looked down at you. You looked away and said, “I should get you an icepack for your foot.”

Instead of replying he pushed you onto your couch and kneeled next to you. “We can worry about that later.”

You didn’t like where this was going. Well you did but you didn’t like doing this so early in a relationship… who said it was a relationship!

“Er… you say you’re painless and… I wonder how many piercings you have!” you blurted out trying to change the subject, get out of the situation you were in.

Pein leaned closer and his lips were almost touching yours now.

You didn’t know if it was the infatuation that was driving your love or really, you guys were meant to be but everything was set into motion when Pein said: “That’s for you to find out.”
