Description

The cold night air of the city in winter reflected the very soul of this place; cold, lonely, and uncaring. From the upper floor of the building in the suburbs, one observer stared down below and out at the concrete jungle with a look of indifference and pensiveness. His green, dull eyes took in the sights and his keen ears took in the sounds of the city through the dirty window. He simply sighed as he turned back into his room, bent down and picked up the two large dumbbells in his room at the base of his bed, near old pizza boxes and crushed cans A deeper sigh escaped his lips as he began to lift them, one arm at a time. They were heavy enough to give him a workout, but for anyone else, they would have been too much. He kept curling the dumbbells as he felt his arms begin to grow sore and saw his veins begin to pop out. He began to utter small grunts after a few dozen repetitions as he felt his arms begin to grow sore. He didn't mind the pain as he continued until he could barely move his arms.

For him, it was the only thing he felt that reminded him he was still alive.
