Description ..met up with two chickadees in the inglewood bird sanctuary here in Calgary.
I think there were only two, cause they appeared now and then together. It's also possible they travel in teams, reconnaissance teams? Checking out passers-by for food?

I'd never really seen chickadees and I was honestly tickled by their energy and speed; like fleeting thoughts they came and went and circled and dashed over and under me. I was constantly moving about looking up and down trying to catch them by camera. I caught maybe 5 good shots out of dozens as they giddied about..

Great focus on the little bird, you can really see the details of the fluffy looking belly and the details of the wings. Also the background colour really suits it.

I believe we may have taken pictures of the same birds lol. I frequently go to Inglewood and have a few pics of these guys in my gallery too. I love photographing them, they are very friendly and happy to land on you. Today when I was there one landed in the hood of my camera!

Ya, they were great! I wasn't one step into the official sanctuary grounds and they kinda just greeted me!..

A volunteer there mimicked their song too, quite well actually! I've heard them many times, but never seen them...great little guys!..

there was four, one of them died, the other 3 were male, and we gave them to my aunt, who recently could no longer care for them, so they were given to my friend acouple streets away from my house

wow! that's interesting that they were mostly male. I used to have doves and if both of the newborn didn't survive the parents would abandon the other! .....At least someone took in the others down the street from you..
