And people really prefer Punzie in Ravenclaw and Hiccup in Hufflepuff. I even saw an explanation to why Merida should be in Slytherin and Jack should be in Gryffindor...

My logic: Rapunzel's biggest thing is loyalty, with her promises she always keeps andthat being the entire reason Flynn cut her hair. Thus, she's a Hufflepuff. Hiccup, on the other hand is wicked smart. I mean, who of us would be able to make a prosthetic tail fin after observing Toothless from twenty to thirty feet away. Plus, it was the smarts he gathered and used riding Toothless what helped him win the in arena. So, he's a Ravenclaw, plain and simple.

I agree that Hiccup is extremely intelligent. (Actually, I want an explanation to why Rapunzel is in Ravenclaw because I just can't see it).
However, Rapunzel being in Hufflepuff is still kind of vague for me... I just like to think of AVPM actually! :3 Hufflepuffs are very good finders, so since she was looking for the lanterns...

The reason people place her in Ravenclaw is because of her artwork. It's supposed to be analytically, like her painting of the constellations and some of the other things, like her reading in the library and trying to pull in everything places her as a Raven. While I can see it, I feel Puff is still the way for her. And of course Hic is in Huffle in those stories because of his caring for Toothless.
