Because I've always adored the brotherly relationship between Alfred and Arthur, and because I'm obsessed with HetaOni.My first Hetalia/HetaOni fanart, though admitted it's my eleventh attempt at any fanwork related to this fandom. I just never got anything right until this popped up.
You only start to realize the little things done for you by the people who care when they're no longer there.
There's an old Chinese saying: 樹欲靜而風不息, 子欲養而親不在. "The tree wishes for silence but the wind won't quiet down; but when the child wishes to take care of his parents to reciprocate their love, they are long gone."

It gives life meaning and something to cry about.I've been trying to improve my drawing skills...not working, though. Sketchy work like this shouldn't take three weeks but it did anyway. I should start timing myself...or something.

And you know, considering how rarely I ever cry, this work is really amazing because it brought me to the verge of tears~ Beautiful symbolism - draping a blanket over the others' shoulders - and concept. Your sketchy style actually really fits the atmosphere. And I love your paneling, too.

I like the sketchiness--and that's okay if it took you three weeks, I'm very slow at drawing so it would take me three weeks as well
This is a great way to focus on their story as characters, not necessarily as nations--which is nice, because I find the character/human side of them to be just as interesting as the nation side. I absolutely love the brotherly relationship between them too, so this is perfect ^^
I love the image of England covering America while he's sleeping when he's older. England will only show affection to America when America isn't able to witness it, right? xD

I do love it as well, you know, exploring the more "human" side of the nations. That's the whole point of Hetalia, I guess, humanizing cold, heartless nations, blending in a whole lot of angst and drama.

Their relationship is quite heartwarming, isn't it? Despite both their personality problems...it's quite obvious they consider each other dear to their hearts - Hetaoni has successfully portrayed their brotherly love in the most tragic way possible.
