I'm alive! I know it's been too long since I last submitted something, but I've been busy busy busy, and with little to no time to do art for myself.So, to let you know I'm still around and kicking, I decided to submit this little collage of an acrylic painting I did a while ago as a commission for . He requested a sort of pixelized Megaman painting.
I've been doing some of these paintings as commissions, so if you'd like to have one, drop me a note and we can arrange it!

I actually painted a Mario a few months back, also sold it to a fellow deviant! These are very fun to do, and I thought it'd be a great combination of different arts: videogame sprites in acrylic! haha

não, não conhecia! já tinha visto uma instalação assim parecida mas era do Super Mario... até uns estudantes de uma universidade que reproduziram um nível do Mario num daqueles placards de cortiça, só com pionés de várias cores, também estava engraçado

So... dumb question but, what is that painted on? Canvas? A wood block?
It looks friggin sweet! I'd commission something like that from you but I have no idea what I would want :/ Oh well... I'll have to think about it.

Well, I've sold this one as a commission and also a previous couple I did (of Mario and Zelda), so yeah, I think I'm going to paint a few more and try to sell them. I've painted a lot more stuff besides this "sprite" style (I've done Hellboy, Slimer, Shaun of the Dead...), but these ones are pretty cool to do, so I think I'm gonna stick with it for a while.
So, it sells, it's just that... I'm not entirely "in" on the market. Like, those two I tried to sell over on eBay but was unsuccessful; luckily after that I managed to sell them to DA friends. DA seems to be the online place where I know more people, have some exposure and know the way around here, but it's not exactly a store... I need to find a place that is better to sell stuff. Do you know any?

you can try to get a permit and sell at a shop or on the sidewalk or something... like we have Park City over here in utah (where they do the film festivals) that have those kind of places to sell stuff....
tho honestly i don't think that'd be very fun.
The best method, and what I would do if I weren't so lazy... would be to get a variety of paintings and stock and see if you can get out to an anime or video game convention and get yourself a table.
I guarantee you'd sell some of these and it'd actually be pretty fun, too :boggie:

haha. Looks great. It makes me wonder if the original creators of the sprite ever imagined it being painted in acrylic on canvas. I'm thinking... probably not.
