Here is a picture that I did as part of an art trade with my dear friend : A picture of Whitnee Squirrel (the "T.U.F.F. Puppy" version of my original character of the same name) and her original character, a brown Persian cat named Samatha, dressed up as showgirls. Because I wasn't too busy with anything else after completing my Halloween-themed artwork that I was able to post on here, I was in the mood for doing another art trade with my friend after checking out her artwork. For this picture I've done, I was able to draw both girls in showgirl outfits that are loosely based on the colors of their usual outfits - Whitnee in a red outfit with red shoes and long pink gloves, and Samantha in a blue outfit with blue shoes and long white gloves. The way I see it, Whitnee and Samantha would be able to go on an undercover mission together while posing as a pair of showgirls at a nightclub in Petropolis, and they'd also be accompanied by Dudley and Kitty as well as the other members of Team Shinobi for such a mission as well. As I was coloring the picture in, I was able to use a purple texture for the background that is done in a kind of dynamic style, and I decided to fill up some of the empty space by adding stars. The picture turned out really nice after being completed, and I just know that my friend will love it no matter what.Whitnee Squirrel (c) Casey Decker

It's pretty cute; and both girls are cute themselves. Though the arms really could use some joints. A bit too rigid looking here.
I notice you request critiques on almost all your works. Are you going through on people's suggestions? You said this came out good. It did come out good, but it still looks rather off.
Among all things to consider is what people tell you in the critiques and really make attempts with them.
On the other hand; it's not really all because of your art skill. I'm aware you don't have a drawing tablet. That really can make things difficult so I know you worked hard on this. I really, really, REALLY encourage you to invest in one. It will help you out so much in the long run.
Because bearing that in mind you don't have a tablet, this drawing is still colorful and vibrant with both girls displaying their sex appeal.
Like I said, keep working on your style; but also invest in a tablet. This will help you improve dramatically the more you work with it.

Believe me, I'm trying not to feel too obsessed about wanting to create a character that everyone finds appealing, even if I think it's something that would make me feel a little more appreciated with the kind of cartoon talent that I have, especially if it's a type character that everyone else is able to draw on their own and even create scenarios for like with Lady Malmsteen and Lizzie McDinga, which would also help me feel inspired to continue drawing if I'm unable to think of something clever on my own. I'm sorry if I seemed kind of rude just recently, and I didn't mean to upset you when dealing with my personal feelings about my own cartoon artwork.

Well...not to be rude or anything....if you want to get more recognition then your style either has to jut out from all the rest, or has to mimic the Butch Hartman style as best it can. I did it for Lady Malmsteen and Lizzy; to have them get as close to the cartoon's style as possible. And I honestly think that helped.
I already made critiques on your style and hope you're taking them into account. Other artists who make their own characters stick our have a dynamic style that people can enjoy and relate to. They have to; in order to gain recognition they so desire.
If you crave recognition, then you can't be fully satisfied with what you have drawing wise. Which is why I don't think you should build your expectations too high and focus more on what you like to do. I know you "feel left out."; but in the end....we're just making fan characters as a hobby. It isn't really that important to try and strive to be better just for the sake of a hobby as it is for the sake of a profession when you compete against other artists looking for work.

I've always thought that my character style was able to stand out from the rest because of the way I always draw the characters in my original cartoon style, and I really do try my best to make each character quite appealing and suitable for the "T.U.F.F. Puppy" universe while also trying my best to mimic the cartoon style of Butch Hartman almost like you did with your characters as well. I'll admit, though, the "T.U.F.F. Puppy" version of Whitnee Squirrel was originally created as something that I did for fun, but as time passed, I was able to create her as an entirely different character with quite a few similarities based on my existing character that I love so very much, and I even wrote a seven-part story explaining how she's able to meet Dudley and Kitty before becoming a T.U.F.F. agent. After noticing how much popularity was for some of the other characters, I also wanted to be part of it after creating a character that I'm sure is able to stand out on her own. There are quite a few things I can list that I believe can actually help Whitnee stand out from the other characters, which should also be considered to anyone else who's just starting to get to know her:
1. She is a ninja warrior from Japan whose ninja skills were meant to develop ever since she was a kid.
2. She is always polite (except towards the villains she fights) and often bows to everyone she greets or thanks.
3. She is a female hero character with white fur, and there probably aren't many characters like that at all.
4. She likes to wear red and fight using a pair of sais, which almost kind of similar to Electra and/or Raphael.
5. The creation of my character is almost similar to what Capcom did with Mega Man by making a different character altogether for an entirely different series.
Believe me, I have been able to keep your artistic advice in mind after checking out all the critiques you've given me about my cartoon artwork, which actually did prove kind of helpful whenever I sometimes felt a little unhappy about my drawing skills. I really do want to continue drawing cartoons like I always do, and I hope to get even better the more I'm able to practice and take such honest advice from artists like you as well. Of course, I'd also like to do some collaborations so I can truly open up for anyone who actually does like what I'm able to draw, which I think is sure to help me feel like I can put my skills to good use.

Heh, I'm guessing it's because of the fur colors of both girls, which is totally understandable because of Whitnee being white like vanilla ice cream and Samantha being brown like chocolate ice cream.
