Description This is Gaston and Jeanette skipping in the park with the seagul and cat during autumn.

They are so CUTE!
Gaston is one of my favorite comic characters, he is so kind and does everything for Jeanette to impress her; even though he does not need to because she' secretly loves him as he loves her.

This picture can not be find exactly like this in the comics, I have took alittle bit here and there and change views, it was fun.

Gaston (also known as 'Gaston LaGaffe') is a character from Franquin, read more of it here (in french): [link]

Oh this is so cute! I just recently stumbled upon my comic collection and I just couldn't resist Gaston (although his name is 'Guust' in Dutch). He is very clumsy and chaotic, but he means well and that's what makes him such a lovable character.

As a kid I really wanted to own his self-made instrument, I think it was called the 'gaffophone'. Wonderful thing

You're absolutely right, he always means well and that's what makes him such a lovable character. There is close so zero "evilness" in him, he can joke around with the police officer but it is always with a spark in his eyes.
I really wished it was possible to get all the comics they made about him, they are rare and very expensive to find today (unless you know some place that sell them?). My mother bought them a loooong time ago, but never got the whole series sadly.

I did find issues 1-10 in the web, but only in German.

In German you say? Well, I did read German in school but it is a bit rusty by now... have not used it active since then.
Can you give me the link? Would be fun to check it out at least. Thanks!

Sure, I'll send you a link to the stuff in my Mega account by PM.

P.S.: It's 1-12, probably the whole series. Their relationship is more or less canon, they seem to be dating, but the series just doesn't focus on that stuff, but that's where fanart-drawers and fanfic-writes join the game, right?

Thank you for the comics! I actually have a couple of those but not all of them, will be fun to see if I can translate them well enough wihtout a dictonary glued to my hand.
Thanks again!

Very true! And I think that the same goes for his boss and co-workers. Gaston can drive them mad but at the end of the day they all agree that he actually is a good kid.
Oh that's a shame! As far as I know the first five comics in their original state are quite rare, but here in the Netherlands the comics are quite easy to find. We have comic stores all over the country and the once I visited all sold Gaston comics, no exception. I got a few from my dad, and some I bought at a flea market. There is quite a living business for secondhand comics over here. So maybe it depends on the country/language? But too bad, I wish I could help you.

Hm, I will have to look for other places then. On markets, I have seen Marsupilami, Spirou and other stuff by the same company, but never Gaston. Gah! I will really have to look harder because it would be terrific to have the set complete, or at least a few more of the series. I shall put my detective hat on and search!
Thanks!

I think I remember looking into the comic series when I travelled to Switzerland to visit my Mom's side of the family.

Love looking at the illustrations of European comics , though I can never read them.

You can always learn another language...

I find European comics to be very good, I like the overall style of the characters. Not everyone looks perfect like most american superhero comics. But it all depends on the series of course, cant pull everyone under the same comb.
